Cub Scout Pack 972, Den 1

Welcome to the Tiger Den!

Hi! Welcome to first grade Cub Scouts! My name is Erika Kennedy. I will be Den Leader for Den 1. This year is my son, Patrick's, and my first year in Cub Scouts.

Although this year will be my first experience as a Den Leader, I grew up in Scouts. I started Girl Scouts when I was a first grader myself, and later became an adult volunteer at Girl Scout day camp and overnight camp. In addition to my Scouting background, I have 14 years experience working in schools with children ages K-8, 9 years as an Elementary School Counselor and 5 years in the Wentzville School District. I was also 4th and 5th grade Camp Director in WSD for 4 years.

I have always loved camping, hiking, crafting, and kids...so I know I'm going to love learning about Cub Scouts and teaching our boys how to be great citizens, while also playing games, getting active outside, doing projects, being silly, and having fun!

I'm excited to get to know you and your family! Please feel free to email, call, or text if you have any questions.

Tiger Den Meetings

We will be meeting one Sunday a month for Den Meetings. Our first meeting will be on Sunday, Oct. 18th from 3-4 p.m. at Living Lord Lutheran Church.

At our Den Meeting, we'll play some games to get to know each other, and we'll begin working on learning the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and Cub Scout handshake, sign, and salute. We'll also have a snack. Please let me know if your Scout, or any siblings who will be at meetings, have any food allergies.

Please also mark your calendar for a Den Meeting on Nov. 15th and Dec. 13th. The location for these meetings is still to be determined.

Have your Scout bring his handbook and wear his uniform to Den Meetings. Let me know if you still need a handbook.

Wearing the Uniform

Cub Scout uniforms serve a dual purpose, demonstrating membership in the group (everyone is dressed alike) and individual achievement (boys wear the badges they've earned). Wearing the uniform to meetings and activities also encourages a neat appearance, a sense of belonging, and good behavior.
