A Message from Mrs. Denny
Happy Friday TRE Families,
Our students are getting excited for our first movie night of the year TONIGHT! This is a FREE event for the whole family sponsored my your donations to Paws for a Cause. Bring some chairs and a blanket. Our student leadership (PALS) will be selling snacks, popcorn and drinks. Due to the movie, Encanto being rated PG, please sign the blue permission slip as you enter.
Today we had our monthly Friday Flag ceremony. We celebrated students who have really shown September's Character Trait of the Month, Compassion (see photo below). Mrs. Gillispie's class won the "Awesome Attendance Award" for the least amount of absences and tardies! Her class only had five absences, tardies, or students leave with early pick-up! Their class will get a free recess with Mrs. Denny and a popsicle party! Our Cool Coyote cheer was so loud and spirited, I am sure you heard it from your house!
Reminder, school starts for TK-3rd grade starts at 8:10. The gates open at 8:00. Please be sure to enter the parking lot by 7:55 AM to ensure your child is not late. 4th and 5th grade starts at 8:20, and gates open at 8:12 AM. If you are late often, try waking up a few minutes earlier, packing backpacks the night before, and/or picking out outfits for the day the night before.

The Cool Coyote Store
The Cool Coyote Store was open today for 1st-5th grades. They will return every other Friday this year.
Parents, help our students spend their Cool Coyotes by running the 'store' via our rolling kiosk by the snack tree facing their lunch tables. If you have never done this before, it is a fun & great way to 'surprise' your child while interacting with other TRE Parents. Fridays during their lunch 12pm - 1:15pm.

Teacher Bios - Three (3) Per Week
Miss Davidson - 2nd Grade
Hi Cool Coyote Families! My name is Ms. Davidson and I teach 2nd grade! This will be my fifth year teaching and second year at TRE. I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grade. My fiance and I are busy planning our wedding for this October! We spent the summer going to a lot of other weddings, traveling to the Bay Area to visit family, and relaxing on the beach. I like to spend my time with family and friends, cooking, and being outdoors! I can’t wait for another year at the ranch! Here we go, Cool Coyotes!
Mrs. Huff-2/3 Combo
Howdy, Cool Coyote Families! My name is Mrs. Huff, and I LOVE teaching here at Tustin Ranch Elementary! This year, I teach a second- and third-grade combo class. In my 25+ years of experience, I have taught grades K-4. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Psychology and a Master of Arts in Education with a Concentration in Reading. My husband and I, together with our, son and daughter (both teenagers… the time really does fly by!) love to go to the beach, play games, travel, and spend time with friends and family. We especially love to take our dog Buddy to the beach! One of my favorite things about TRE is our community. I look forward to seeing y’all around here at The Ranch!
Ms. Spiker - 3rd Grade
Hi there Cool Coyotes! Mrs. Spiker here! Before teaching here at TRE, I worked at Nelson Elementary. I have had extensive experience teaching students with specialized needs, and often bring my love for music and positive thinking into the classroom. I was happily married this past summer, and spent time with my family in my hometown of San Diego. With my time away from teaching, I enjoy gardening and planting succulents, jogging and setting new fitness goals, listening to music, creating art of all kinds, and learning about history. I truly love working in education and getting to know the unique students who come through our doors.

*Please label all water bottles, lunch boxes, jackets, and removable clothing items with your child’s name. These items are commonly left on the playground, and as we do our best to return labeled items to the proper owner, unlabeled items will be placed in the Lost & Found located outside the Multi-Purpose Room.
Tustin Ranch & Pioneer Middle School Cell Phone Policy
CELL PHONES/SMART DEVICES:
To ensure student safety and exposure to unmonitored internet contact directly, or through friends, cell/smartphone use is not allowed on school campus by students (including field trips).
Cell phones and smartphones must be stored in the owner’s backpack and powered “off” while on the Tustin Ranch campus. Students are not permitted to keep their cell/smartphone in their pockets or desks, or otherwise “on their person” while at school.
Smart devices such as watches are not to be used during school in any capacity that mimics a cell or smartphone. Use of a watch or activity tracker is permissible.
If students violate the cell phone policy or are found to have a smart device in their possession that is not stored and in the ’off’ position, it will be confiscated and held until a parent or guardian can pick it up.
Tustin Ranch is not responsible for items that have gone missing during school. While we are sympathetic to items that are missing please remember that it is our endeavor to focus as much time as possible on refining our programs and instruction to maximize student achievement, and the time taken to look for these items hinders these efforts.
A licensed physician and surgeon may direct a student to use an electronic signaling device if carrying such a device is essential for the health of the student. Use of the device by the student is limited specifically to the health of that student.
If a student needs to call their parents they may call from the school office or classroom.
If a parent needs to give their child a message they may call the front office at (714)730-7580. We will be sure the student receives the message.
