Pathways to Summer Nurse Camp
June 19 - 22, 2018
The NKU & St. Elizabeth Healthcare Summer Nurse Camp will take place from June 19 – 22, 2018. This camp is offered especially for high school students who are rising sophomores, juniors and seniors during the summer of 2018. This experience is an excellent opportunity for students who have thought about becoming a nurse to experience first-hand what it is like to be in nursing school and in a hospital setting.
During the first two days of camp, the students spend time at NKU learning basic nursing skills, working in our Simulation Laboratory, and getting acquainted with what to expect as a nursing student and life on a university campus. The third and fourth days of camp are spent with St. Elizabeth Healthcare shadowing nurses, physicians and other health care providers.
This is our 11th year offering Summer Nurse Camp and the feed-back from students who have attended has been overwhelmingly positive. Because we are limited to only 30 students, it is important to apply early. The best part of the experience is that it is free. Please distribute this information to any student who may be interested. I have attached a copy of the application packet and this can also be found online at https://inside.nku.edu/healthprofessions/departments/nursing/camp.html
