Creative Cooking Italian Recipe
Maddie's Pictorial of Easy, Cheesy Tortellini Bake
Recipe Introduction
This is the Italian recipe that I made in Creative Cooking in March of 2013. I made these tortellini because it is something that I have never made before and it just looked delicious! The recipe was fairly easy to make and the final product was so good!
Yield
The yield of this recipe was 3 servings.. Which was perfect for the amount of people in my group because we had leftovers to share!
Ingredients and Equipment
- These are the ingredients that I had used for the recipe. The equipment is also listed below
- 1 ( 9 ounce) package of cheese tortellini
- 1/2 (24 ounce) jar of Marinara sauce
- 1/2 (10 ounce) jar of Alfredo sauce
- 1 Tomato (Replaced Spinach)
- 1-1/2 teaspoons of dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 (8 ounce) package of shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 tablespoons of freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
- Equipment
- Large Pot
- Oven
- 8x8 inch baking dish
Step One
Fill up a large pot with water and fill a little more than half way. Bring the water to a boil and slightly salt the water. Add the tortellini until cooked
Step Two
Butter or grease an 8x8 inch baking dish
Step Three
Chop the tomato to sizes that you wish. Take a saucepan and bring the Alfredo sauce, Marinara sauces along with the chopped tomato and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning to a simmer over medium high heat. After 5 minutes, reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Step Four
Once the sauce is cooked, strain the tortellini and then add the tortellini into the sauce.
Step Five
After the noodles are mixed, add the mixed ingredients into the baking dish. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese , Parmesan cheese and the 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning on top.
Step Six
After the cheeses and the seasoning are on top, place the item into to oven and broil set high for about a minute or two until the cheese is melted or golden brown.
Step Six
Once the dish is finished, remove it from the oven and let cool or serve hot. Enjoy!!!
Comments
Overall, the Tortellini bake came out surprisingly good! I really enjoyed the Italian seasoning because it added more flavor. Some things that I would change would to add more vegetables to get more of a different flavor. This is my first time making this product. Overall it became pretty good. I thought that the product would become a little bit more crisper. If I would have left it in the oven more, it could have been more "baked." Having the "assistant" chefs helped me because it caused me to be less stressed. Somethings I could have done better was to leave the product in a little more to make it more crispy. I could have also added more tomatoes. The recipe and the steps were self explanatory. I cannot wait to make this again!
