It's School Board Appreciation Month in Alaska
In addition to being homeschooling parents and teachers with busy schedules, they serve as education advocates by providing vision and leadership for student achievement and academic success.

APC Board Elections
Are you interested in serving on the Academic Policy Committee for Family Partnership Charter School? There will be 2 parent seats; 2 student seats (one lead, one shadow seat) and one teacher seat available on the elections ballot in May. FPCS Science Fair (March 2nd)
The day of the Fair:
Students set up their projects beginning at 9:00 am (or upon arrival). Judges will interview students by grade level**:
6th and 7th grades 9:30 am - 10:45 am
5th and 8th grades 10:45 am - 12:00 pm
1st thru 4th grades 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
** Students may also schedule an alternate time for convenience. All enteries should be taken home at the end of the day unless arrangements are made with teachers.
Volunteers needed - for the following jobs, if interested please contact Kay Alley at (907) 830 2833.
- Set up: 9:00 to 9:45 am - to help students place their projects
- Snack management: 2:00 pm, 2 people to set out water, arrange snacks
- Clean up: 3:50 to approx. 4:30 - take down projects, clean snack table, vacuum
- Bring snacks for Open House
- Judging projects - at least 3 people for each hour of judging. Judges interview students. Training provided!
Graduating Seniors
CAP AND GOWN: Please put your order in OLS under general expenses for your cap and gown NO later than March 6th. Be sure to enter the student's height and weight so the proper size can be ordered. This order includes the cap, gown, tassel and teal stole.
Game Night - Saturday March 4th 6:00 pm -9:00 pm. Bring a friend or parent, your favorite card or board game and a snack to share. We will also discuss future activities. If you have ideas for some group activities please come with the information and share them. If you want to host this event, contact Happy at 240-7244 with your address. If no one offers to host it will be held at Happy's church on O'Malley. Watch this newsletter for the final location.
Graduation is right around the corner mark your calendars for Tuesday May 23rd. Graduation will be held at the East High School Auditorium (6:40 pm - 9:00 pm).
If you plan to walk in the ceremony, please send Happy your name and e-mail address and phone numbers. Call or text in this information to her at 240-7244.

The survey is voluntary, anonymous, confidential, and does not ask questions about students’ families.
