GRAND PRIZE Energy Efficiency Poster Contest Winner
Congratulations to Kelly McMahan, a Springhouse Middle School student who won the GRAND PRIZE in the THINK ENERGY/E-power Bright Ideas Energy Efficiency Student Poster Contest. She showcased ways to save energy and help the environment. Out of 1,700 submissions in the PPL service area, she won the Grand Prize which was $500 and a pizza party for her class. Her teacher, Josh Abrams, also won a $500 grant. Ronak Singh is another student in Mr. Abrams class who was a finalist. He won $200 and a pizza party for his class.

Our Town, Thornton Wilder’s timeless play about life and love in the small New Hampshire town of Grovers Corners, comes to life in a unique and modern presentation.
District 10 Orchestra and Band auditions were held on Saturday, December 5, at Parkland High School.
The District 10 Orchestra Festival takes place January 16-19 at East Stroudsburg South High School. Congratulations to the following PMEA finalists: Violin: Sung Min Park, Joshua Yang, Aathira Jayamohan, Brittany Gelb, Natalie Golovanov, Conrad Lee Viola: Anna Li Cello: Taylor Cope, Lisa Stein, Taras Guanowsky Bass: Guinevere Conner, Ashleigh Budlong, Jake Schultz Clarinet: Max Stempel Bassoon: Grace Lerew.
District Band will be held January 28-30 at North Schuylkill High School, with Dr. M. Gregory Martin of West Chester University as the guest conductor. Bravo to the following Parkland students who have qualified: French Horn: Aleksander Gulkewicz Tuba: Josh Harman Bassoon: Grace Lerew Clarinet: Max Stempel, Alex Tang (Springhouse).
Congratulations to the 2015 football team who provided the Parkland community and entire Lehigh Valley with a season of incredible memories. The boys played extremely well and showed tremendous determination in the State Championship Game, but ultimately ended the season with a silver medal when they fell to Pittsburgh Central Catholic with a score of 18-21.
