Mine it, Drill it, Frack it!

Two types of mining

Surface mining is one type, it extract the minerals near the surface of the earth. It includes strip, open-pit, and mountaintop removal mining.

the other type of mining is Sub Surface mining. It is similar to surface but it extract the minerals AND ores but from the underground.

the ways are drilling it, mining it. fracking it.

Drilling it. (examples of)

the exploration diamond drilling, gas and oil drilling. it just withdraws it from the earth. the process of the gas and oil drilling leaves behind radical impacts to the landscape. in negative ways it brings toxic and chemicals and dust pollute the air and water and more. the good is that it gives us gas and oil and many other things out of earth.

Mining it

mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth. can comes from an ore body, lode, vein, seam, reef or placer deposit. the environmental impact of mining includes erosion, contamination of soil, groundwater, and surface water by chemicals from mining processes.

Frack it/ what is fracking?

the process of drilling down into the earth before a high pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release the gas inside. during the process the methane gas and toxic chemicals leach out fro the system and contaminate nearby groundwater.

there has been over 1,000 documented cases of water contamination next to areas of gas drilling. the waste fluids is left open air pits to evaporate, releasing harmful compounds into the atmosphere, creating contaminated air, and acid rain.

Land Drilling vs. Ocean Drilling

ocean drilling- is a mechanical process where a welibore is drilled below the seabed

land drilling- drilling with rings that are moved in by ground transportation and the drilling site is not over water.

both of the history of land and ocean drilling offshore oil and natural gas industry began in the pacific ocean and more than 100 years ago. as recently as 1947.
