The Giving Tree
In the spirit of the holiday season, our Duncan students and staff are embracing an opportunity to reach out a helping hand to families this holiday season. If you are interested in helping, please stop by our “Giving Tree” set up outside our Media Center. The tree is decorated with ornament tags listing a gift. Simply remove one of the ornament tags from the tree, purchase the gift, then send in the gift unwrapped with the ornament tag attached to the office by December 14th.
Some students have already grabbed an ornament to bring home. If you did not want your student to take an ornament, please return it to the office.
Congratulations Student Council Members
Involvement in Duncan Elementary Student Council encourages responsibility and promotes decision-making skills. We pay tribute to those Duncan students who involves themselves in valued leadership roles in and around our school. This year each 3rd - 6th grade classroom elected two students to represent them and be their voice at Student Council meetings. The classroom representatives and board will come together monthly to discuss school related issues and initiatives. we are so very proud of all the students that ran for classroom representative positions! We look forward to a year filled with vision,

Winter Weather
We believe outdoor recess is an important and valuable part of our students’ day. Fresh air, exercise and time spent outside afford students a break from the structure of the classroom with the ever-changing Michigan weather, it is imperative that your child is dressed appropriately and is prepared to play outside. During the winter season, every child should have a jacket, gloves or mittens, and a hat. If there is snow on the ground, snow boots and pants are necessary. If students do not have snow boots, they will be limited to the blacktop area on the playground. Don't forget to label all your child's items! Thank you!
Parking Lot Reminders
- Please model patient behaviors.
- The North Bus Lane Parking Lot does NOT have a Student Drop off line. Any car in this lot should be in a parking spot and students should be walked to the cross walk with an adult.
- For safety reasons students should NOT be walking through the parking lot without an adult.
