Academic Support for Students
Students can receive additional support through Smart Lunch, After School Study Hall and the Quarantine Content Support Sessions.
In your child's Canvas account, there is a MMS student group course. When your child clicks on that course, you will see a Student Support module with the links to the registration forms and support sessions.
October PTSO Meeting
Our next PTSO meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6 at 8am. We will send out the virtual link to the meeting the night before. We hope to see you at the meeting!
Virtual Mooresville Middle School
The VMMS teachers would like to say "Welcome" to the new students we have had joined over the past couple of weeks. We do want to remind all parents and students that our expectations include students attending the Google Meets and having their cameras on. Teachers will be reviewing classroom expectations with students during class next week.
We have seen some great work from our students this week and want to recognize two of them as our Student of the Week for September 20-24.

8th Grade: Makyah G.

As always, we are so grateful for your involvement.
MMS Study Hall
Starting Next Week, MMS will be hosting a Study Hall on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the MMS Media Center from 2:45 - 3:45. Students can use this time to catch up on classwork or just get homework done in a supervised quiet setting. Students are required to sign-up in advance. Here’s the link. Students also have this link available in Canvas.
Here Comes the Bus
Here Comes The Bus (HCTB) is a helpful new app that MGSD is using to help all bus-riding families get more information on their child's transportation to and from school. HCTB will help parents to:
See the location of your child’s bus both before and after school
Confirm that your child’s bus has arrived at the bus stop, at school or both;
Get information on substitute buses, or when we have important information to relay;
Allow for MMS to communicate any delays or changes to your child's middle school bus routes during the day;
Receive email notifications OR push notifications to iPhone / Android devices.
MMS is looking for ALL bus-riding families to sign up for and use HCTB before October 1st. Please use this document for account set-up assistance, or email Mr. Kosal or Ms. McGrath at MMS to get more information.
MAWI Lessons
During one class session the week of September 27th, the MMS Social Studies department will facilitate the following MAWI lessons:
7th Grade: MAWI Lesson #4- Avoid Your Victim
8th Grade: MAWI Lesson #4-Conflict Reaction
MMS is using the MAWI program to facilitate social and emotional lessons that are designed to help students build life-long coping skills.

Parents of Athletes and Potential Athletes
We are very excited to announce that the Mooresville Graded School District’s Middle School Athletic Department has partnered with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time.
You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.
Click on the Parent Playbook (attached) to get started in FinalForms. If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Use Support”.
We are asking that ALL parents of athletes use FinalForms. I know many of you have completed these forms for fall sports. It would be very helpful if you could go to this site and create an account and fill out the necessary information again. There are several new things that this program offers that will be especially helpful to our athletic department.
If you have a high school student and have already created an account, you do not need to create a second account. Simply log on and add your middle school student.
Please register at: https://mooresville-nc.finalforms.com/
and follow the prompts to create your account, create your students and sign your forms.
If you need additional help on setting up your account click on this link
Thank you for your assistance in streamlining our paperwork processes at Mooresville Graded School District Middle School.
