Thank You!

I can't believe another school year is coming to an end! The year always seems to fly by, and it did especially for me this year as I finish up my first year as your Elementary Principal. I want to thank you for the support and kindness you have all shown me this year, and your willingness to work together for the benefit of your kids. The students we have here at Nodaway-Holt Elementary are truly the best around, and I am thankful each and every day that I get to come here and work with them! Thank you again for making this a great year!!

MAP Testing & NWEA Testing

We began our MAP testing at the elementary this week with 5th Grade Science. The students started off strong working very hard on their tests. Next we will continue MAP testing with 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade testing for the ELA portion of the MAP test on May 2nd - May 4th. Those grade levels will finish up testing on the Math portion of the MAP test on May 9th - May 11th.

We will also begin our end of the year NWEA Testing next week in grades K-2nd.

Menu Changes

As we approach the end of the school year, there may be changes made to the lunch menu from time to time. We will communicate these changes as we can, and appreciate your understanding with this.

End of the Year Awards

We are going to have to change things up this year with our End of the Year Awards because they are redoing the gym floor that week so we won't have access to the gym. That being said, we will have assigned times for each grade level, and I will be announcing over the intercom for the whole school to hear, each award that students receive. You are welcome to come during your child/children's grade level times and wait in the cafeteria for them to come down to the office and receive their awards. This will give you the opportunity to take pictures with them, and to be there to hear and see what awards they get.

The schedule for the awards on May 18th is the following:

  • 12:30-12:40 - Kindergarten
  • 12:45-12:55 - 1st Grade
  • 1:00-1:10 - 2nd Grade
  • 1:15-1:25 - 3rd Grade
  • 1:30-1:40 - 4th Grade
  • 1:45-1:55 - 5th Grade
  • 2:00-2:10 - 6th Grade

Field Day is BACK!!

We are bringing back field day this year and I couldn't be more excited for the students! We will be having our field day on Wednesday, May 17th from 9-12 at the elementary. Weather permitting, we will be using the field on the north side of the gym for our activities. You are welcome to attend and cheer your kiddos on! More information to come from your child's classroom teacher in the weeks ahead.

Last Day of School Field Trip

We are fortunate enough to have our Elementary Student Council sponsor a schoolwide field trip the morning of the last day of school. We will be taking students to the Time Out Entertainment Center in St. Joe. You should receive permission slips and a waiver to sign today for your child to attend this field trip. We must have these signed or your child will not be allowed to go. Please see Mrs. Ginther or Miss Rawlings with any questions.
