Farewell
We did it! In a year that the only thing constant was change, we succeeded! Our teachers and students overcame obstacles, adapted to every challenge presented to them, and became better because of it.
I could not be happier with the way everyone contributed to make this year one to remember. I'll remember the '20-'21 school year as the one with numerous learning models, numerous schedules, numerous questions, numerous changes….and ONE community. One community that wanted what's best for EVERY student. One community that worked tirelessly to ensure our students didn't fall behind. One community that demonstrated patience and perseverance. One community that displayed strength, kindness, and support. One community that succeeded in the eyes of adversity.
My tagline on the morning announcements is a quote by Nelson Mandela, "We don't lose, we win or we learn." This year, we won AND we learned. We beat a global pandemic. We beat the odds. We learned how to respect each other's personal space, how to learn remotely, how to deliver instruction remotely, how to adapt to IPDH and ISBE guidelines. All of this while still providing top-notch instruction. I could not be more proud as Principal of Bannes Elementary School, Home of the Bobcats!
I wish you all a restful and safe summer.
