Something to Consider - Rise Up
What will we do about it?
- The adults will remain keenly aware of situations of "picking on", "bullying", and/or "disrespect" among students and we will respond appropriately to stop the behavior.
- The adults will be intentional about building and supporting a culture that will "Rise Up" against negative behavior.
- The students will be encouraged and taught how to "Rise Up" for and with each other. A student intervening for another student should never stand alone.
- We will take this very seriously and promote it to students and parents.
- We will always stand ready to act.
The result? We will build a culture of mutual respect and support.
Thank you to PBIS for getting this moving and Duane for the rockin' logo. This is just the beginning.
Shoutouts & Celebrations
thank you for your outstanding effort, kindness, excellence, and selflessness.
- Jason Koele: Thank you for believing in all of our kids - especially the tough ones who make us question ourselves and why we do what we do, those who make us stay for long meetings, those who have never felt that support/belief so they push us back - you are making a difference!
- Kurt Soderberg & Jason Koele: Thank you for supporting and more importantly following through with all of the tedious/time-consuming work that really provided the base for our student(s) to rise up and do the right thing! In turn, the student(s) felt like they did the right thing!
- Chris Buckel: He made me my first cup of Buck's blend and allowed me to occupy his room.
- Steph Posta: Submitting a request for records and actually getting the other people to acknowledge and respond! You are amazing!
- Wendy Hoverson: For being found (finally) and helping print NHS materials. You're the best!
- Heather Jourdeans & Cami Stansbury: Provided endless corny jokes for wellness this week.
- Administration: Starting the "Rise Up" movement. I can already see a shift in some of my students.
- Heather and Duane Jourdeans: For providing cookies at lunch on Wednesday!
- Duane Jourdeans: #cashmoney "Rise Up" logo!
- Gretchen Rozeboom: Allowed two of my students to join her class when they needed a class that was more appropriate to promote their academic success and enjoyment.
- Lori Cress: She is a rockstar and does a multitude of tasks to keep this place running correctly. One of the hardest workers I've ever know.
- Tracy Klein: Thank you for your leadership with Pit Crew. Your work makes a difference
You all ROCK!
