TX Railroad Commission Forum
Hosted by Alvin TEA Party Patriots
It's Important Who Represents You and the Texas Oil & Gas Economy
Texas ranks 1st in the nation in total energy production, oil production, natural gas production, and electricity production. In just over 2 years, Texas has doubled its oil production, competing with major oil producing countries around the world, bringing new jobs to the state, and adding to the state’s revenues. It is expected to continue to increase its oil production through existing and new shale oil formations. Coal and natural gas generate over 80 percent of the state’s electricity.
The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) is the state agency that regulates the oil & gas industry, natural gas utilities, pipeline safety, natural gas and hazardous liquid pipeline industry and surface coal and uranium mining in Texas. The RRC is also responsible for research and education to promote the use of LP gas as an alternative fuel.
