Incredible Staff of the Month

Congratulations to Mrs. Waggoner's Advanced Culinary Students!
High school students train for months for the annual C-CAP Cooking Competitions. The challenge: prepare classic French dishes to demonstrate students’ culinary, safety and sanitation, and presentation skills in a timed competition. The reward: a chance to win scholarships to attend college/post-secondary schools around the nation. C-CAP is proud to run the largest independent culinary/hospitality scholarship program in the country, allowing these students to further their education without incurring unmanageable debt.
This year, VHS had three competitors from Mrs. Waggoner's Advanced Culinary Classes; seniors Haley Rudd, Branson Tucker and junior Brett Dawson. They all did great in the preliminary round. Haley moved onto the final competition and Brett was one of the top 10 juniors.
Haley competed at Mission college back in March against 32 high school seniors from 17 local high schools. Last Friday, Haley Rudd received the SoCal Gas scholarship of $5,500.
