Field Day
Tracks 3 and 4 Field Day
Tracks 3 and 4 will have field day on Friday May 31st, next Friday. Please sign up for your child's session (9:30-11:30 am for Pre-K - 2nd grade OR 1:00 - 3:00 pm for 3-5th grade). Use the link below to sign up. We will need many hands to make this a successful event for the kids! Lunch will be provided for volunteers from 11:30 - 1:00 pm.

If you have a tailgate or beach tent that we can borrow to cover the refreshment stand, please let me know or sign up on the genius. We would also greatly appreciate borrowing a couple of 5-gallon coolers for dispensing water and lemonade. We will have your tent and coolers back to you at the end of the day. TCE Appreciates ALL our Volunteers!!!!
In appreciation of our Volunteers, we are going to have the second of 2 Volunteer Luncheons. It will take place on Field Day May 31.
Our first luncheon was on May 9 for our track 1 & 2 Volunteers. Everyone who attended had a good time and good food! The second Luncheon will take place on May 31 for the Tracks 3 & 4 Field Day. Lunch will be served between the two Field Day sessions at 11:30-12:30.
This luncheon is NOT just for Field Day Volunteers! It's for all of our Volunteers. Even if you are unable to help with field day, please feel free to still come and enjoy lunch on us!

Girls on the Run Coaches Needed!
We are in need of 2 GOTR coaches for the 2019-2020 school year! Right now we have enough coaches to have a Tues/Thurs team, but not enough to have an additional team on Mon/Wed.
Coaches can be school staff, parents, grandparents, siblings over 18 years of age, etc. You do not have to be a runner, as we tell the girls, you just have to keep moving forward, whether you walk, run, skip or jump! Training, curriculum and materials are all provided. You must be have a background check completed and be CPR and First Aid certified (GOTR will help you schedule this and pay for it too!)
The fall season begins the week of Sept. 23rd and runs for 10 weeks, ending with the 5k at Koka Booth Amphitheater on Dec. 14th. Practices are held after school, from 4-5:15pm.

TCE Chess News
Congratulations to all the students who participated in the TCE Chess Tournament! They have worked hard and we are proud of them all. A special congratulations to our 4th grade tournament winner, Anika Arora!
Three Turner Creek students participated in the Triangle Chess Team Tournament this last month and TCE won 3rd place in their group. Congratulations to Amber Arora, Anika Arora and Max Xu!
Another big congratulation to Anika Arora for winning 2nd place (tiebreaker for first) in the U1200 section at the NC Girls State Championship this past weekend! Great job!
The 2019 Turner Creek Chess Season is over, but it’ll be back this next fall! Stay tuned...
School Supply Kits for 2019-20 ON SALE NOW!
Be on the lookout for an informational flyer soon in your child's Friday Folder! Track 3 will receive a flyer when tracked back in.
Want to avoid the hassle of shopping for school supplies? Order a pre-assembled kit through SchooToolBox for your child's grade level. Backpacks, lunchboxes, and other supplies are available through SchoolToolBox as well. ALL KITS and other merchandise will be shipped to your home address rather than to TCE as in past years.

Please note: Pricing of Kits DOES NOT include a magazine subscription or agenda if applicable. These items will still need to be purchased through the PTA at Meet the Teacher or during first week of school for an additional cost. There is also no option available for incoming Kindergarten students as their lists are teacher specific.

Our PTA board is also seeking 2 new board interns to assist and shadow our board members. This is a great opportunity to join in board meetings and learn the ropes this year and hopefully taking over for a graduating volunteer in the future.

Box Tops and Tyson A+ Labels
Help Us Raise Money for TCE!
Great job Turner Creek! We earned $220 with the March submission. This brings our annual earnings to $784!! The next Box Tops submission date is November 1, 2019. Please make sure they have valid dates (dated 11/1/2019 and beyond). If the Box Top is labeled between 3/1/2019-10/30/2019, we have to throw them away! The Box Tops collection bin is in the TCE lobby across from the main office.
Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school buy what it needs. Box Tops are each worth 10¢ and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. Here is a link showing participating Box Tops products.
Clip Tyson Project A+ labels from participating Tyson® product packages and send them to school with your child. We’ll collect the labels and send them to Tyson Foods, and Tyson Foods will send our school a check. Each label is worth 24¢!
Please drop your Tyson Project A+ labels in the Box Tops collection bin in the TCE lobby. Here is a link for a list of participating products.
