How can you and your students use the library?
- If you are working on a project in the classroom, let Mrs. Taylor or Mr. Fettinger know. In working with them, you can send students down to the library to work on the project and the certified teaching staff will assist them.
- Need a change of view? Come to the library with your classes for a day. Spread out. We have a great space where the tables can easily be moved.
- Do you have a student or two who gets done early with classwork? Send them to the Mr. Fettinger to learn how to use the 3D printer to create something or to Mrs. Taylor to pick out a great book to read.
- Working on setting up differentiated groups for your students? Do it in the library and we can help.
- Mrs. Taylor and Mr. Fettinger are available to come to your classroom to provide instruction on a variety of topics: ebook usage, 3D printing, research tools, technology projects -- really anything that you can think of!
We'd love to have the library filled with students coming in and out and working on projects and research, so please think of the library as an extension of your classroom with teachers who can help.

TEEN READ WEEK-OCTOBER 3-7
1. Name the book contest-each day, an excerpt from a popular book will be read over the announcements. Teachers will either email or send down their class's guess as to the title of the book the excerpt came from. All correct responses will be placed into a hat and one will be chosen from a random drawing. The winning class will receive a prize the following day.
2. You've Been Caught Reading Coupons- teachers will receive coupons to be handed out to students that they see reading for pleasure outside of instructional time in their classroom. The students will bring the coupons to the library. On Friday, Oct. 7, 3 coupons will be drawn and the selected students will receive a prize.
ROSIE READERS PROGRAM
For students to get involved, all they have to do is come to the library. Choose a book from the 2016-17 Rosie Readers shelves. Read the book. Return the book to the library and fill out a short questionnaire and give it to Mrs. Taylor. Prizes will be awarded for the first five books read. Upon completion of the 5th book, the reader will be given the opportunity to vote for the book they feel should win the Eliot Rosewater Award for 2017, they will be invited to an end of the year celebration in the library and their name will be entered into a drawing for door prizes and a grand prize given at the party.
This program is a win-win for all involved!!!!
To date, we have several students involved in the program. Antoinette Yasko is the first student to complete the 5 books. She has read 12 Rosie Reader books so far. If you know Antoinette, please congratulate her!!
