Cool Cat News
Campus Brief
Cool Cats,
What a great week! Thank you so much everyone for making our Wylie Way Day such a BIG success! It was a great day for rock climbing too! I loved seeing our students so excited about all of their activities. Wylie Way team you did a great job planning this day! It was a blast!
Each day as I walk our halls, I am thankful; thankful for the amazing staff and students that make up this special place called Hartman Elementary. I have learned so much from you this year! I love you all!
Fridays in February can be sneaky, stay alert!
Because we all know things get really intense in the Spring.... Sometimes our fuses are shorter, and our patience runs thin. We communicate things we don't really intend. Here is our quote for the week:
"The first to apologize is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. The first to forget is the happiest." ~Unknown
No one said it was easy, but if you can apologize, forgive, and forget when mistakes occur, you, my friend, will have a much better chance of being happy.
Have a great weekend!
Shawnell
Staff Updates
Picture day is Monday!!!! All staff needs to arrive early to take our staff picture. We will take our picture promptly at 6:45 in the gym! I know..."The struggle is real." Cute, professional dress required. :)
TTESS- Send times if you haven't already!
Sub Plans- We have recently had several staff members have to be out unexpectedly due to the onset of illness or unforeseen circumstances. It is imperative that each classroom teacher have a sub folder with sub plans readily available. Please make sure you have this. With stomach viruses and the flu going around, we want to encourage that we all be proactive in our planning just in case.
Great news! Hartman is welcoming a new staff member to our team! We would like to say welcome to Mrs. McCray who will now assist Ms Johnson in Pre-K as her aide. Welcome aboard Mrs. McCray!
February 18th PD will be a campus climate and culture training with Ron Morrison. Ron has worked with many campuses in the district and comes to us by the recommendation of Dr. Vinson. The following is our schedule for the day:
8-11:30- Morning Session
11:30-1- Lunch
1-3:30 - Afternoon session
3rd Grade Adopt a Reader- In January we discussed our immediate need for supporting some of our 3rd grade readers. It has taken some time to get everything organized, but we have decided we need this extra special support for 10 of our 3rd graders. We will be sending out a Google Doc next week asking for support for these kids. If you can give a few minutes of your time for the next few weeks, it could make all of the difference for one of these students! We invest too much of our time and energy into these sweet Cools Cats to let one of them get away without having a solid foundation in literacy. Your few minutes WILL make a difference! Thank you so much for your help Team Hartman!
Round Table Behavior Discussion- Our Spring Round Table discussion is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2nd from 3-4pm. Remember this is an optional opportunity for you to meet with several of the behavior specialists and work through any behavior concerns yo may have.
