Why is the Green Revolution a Good Idea?

Capable of growing crops on a massive scale.

Make plants which are resistant to pests and herbicides.

Farming can become a process of automation.

Can replant same crops without having to let land fallow.

Can grow virtually any crop anywhere we want.

Farmers can grow and export cash crops for profit.

Economic Effects

With the money earned from farming you can pay off debts or pay for new consumer goods.

Sociological Effects

The Green Revolution creates a multitude of new jobs!

India was considered to be in the Green Revolution for many years. Since then they have paid of a considerable amount of debt and do not have as many starving citizens.
