AT UNION CHAPEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Mission Statement
The Mission of Student Support Services is to assist students in learning ways to achieve their educational and developmental potential by providing a range of strategies and specialized support. The Student Support Team also collaborates with administrators, teachers, other staff members, parents, and community members utilizing a problem-solving process aimed at increasing academic achievement for our students as well as teaching critical social and emotional competencies necessary for academic and life success. The Student Support Team develops and implements a variety of resources during individual sessions, in small group settings, in classroom settings, and through community outreach.
Support Team Members are as follows: Mr. Antonio Wilkins ( Principal), Ms. Christina McMillan (Assistant Principal), Ms. Michelle Lowry ( School Counselor), Ms. Amy Morgan ( School Social Worker), Ms. Rebecca Jacobs ( School Nurse), and Ms. Sharon Locklear ( Youth Development Specialist)

October 23 - 31 Red Ribbon Week and Bully Prevention Week
The Activities are as follows:
Wednesday (October 23) UNITY DAY – Wear ORANGE in support of standing together against bullying and standing UNITED for kindness, acceptance and inclusion
Thursday (October 24) I'M TOO BRIGHT FOR DRUGS AND BULLYING DAY - Wear bright or neon colors
Friday ( October 25) SUPER HERO DAY - Wear your Super Hero Day t-shirts and hats/caps or dress up as a character out of your favorite book or movie
Monday ( October 28) CELEBRATE RED RIBBON DAY - Wear the color Red and attach as many RED items to your attire as possible
Tuesday (October 29) MAKE DRUGS AND BULLYING DISAPPEAR DAY - Wear camouflage and/or animal print
Wednesday ( October 30) TEAM UP AGAINST DRUGS AND BULLYING DAY - Wear your favorite sports team t-shirts and sports team hat/caps
Thursday ( October 31) DRUGS AND BULLYING ARE TRICKS NOT TREATS DAY - Wear your favorite Halloween Costume ( NO MASK AND NO PAINTED FACES)
You can teach a student
a lesson for a day;
but if you can teach him to learn
by creating curiosity, he will
continue the learning process
as long as he lives
