Last Day of School

We invite all parents and families to join us for our last school Mass of the year on our last day, Friday, May 27th. Please come to celebrate with us and give thanks to God for another great year at St. Joseph! Students will be allowed to leave early with their parents/families after Mass to begin their summer vacation. Any student that does not go home after Mass will have an 11:30 AM dismissal that day.

Panther Pride Auction Update

It will still be a bit before final numbers are in, but it looks like this year’s auction and raffle will gross right around $83,000. To put that in perspective, last year’s auction grossed in the low $50,000 range. When all is said and done, I expect to net about $1,000 per family in volunteer fundraising efforts. This is why parent participation across the board with the auction is so vital as it helps to keep tuition affordable for all of our Panther families. Thank you to all our families who donated or gave of their time to help with this year‘s auction. It truly does takes a village. Thank you for being models of service and faithfulness in support of Catholic education to our students. God has blessed us with an amazing school, community and students that are worthy of benefitting from the talents He felt each one of us worthy to bestow upon. A personal note of thanks to several individuals who went above and beyond to really help with this year’s auction effort : Risa Phipps, Katie Lasinskas, Megan Scaggs, Anna Liesinger, Allison Finn, Maggie Thompson, Gretchen Gustwiller, Stephanie Gill, Jen Mishka, Charlie Reau, Phil Cousino and Patrick Beauvais. Thank you all for the countless hours, support, positive teamwork and friendship you gave.

Our virtue of the week is Moderation. Moderation means attention to balance in one's life.

School Garden News!

It's planting time! Our school has a small garden box located on the west side of the building outside of the cafeteria. In the past, school families have planted and cared for the garden throughout the summer. Our harvest is donated to local areas in need such as MCOP in Monroe, or other organizations that can take fresh food. The care involves helping to plant items such as tomatoes, and other vegetables that can be decided by the students, light weeding and watering once a week on Fridays after the 8:30 Mass (roughly 9:15), and helping to harvest vegetables as they ripen. This does not have to be an every week commitment, but rather taking turns with families, or helping as you can. RE-ENROLLMENT TIME!

2022-2023 school year re-enrollment is now available in your FACTS family portal at https://factsmgt.com/ (or click the button below). Our district code is STJ-MI. From the family portal be sure to choose enrollment/reenrollment for returning students. You will need to re-enroll each returning student. Health appraisal and immunization records are only needed for Pre-School, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 7th grade students. Registering now helps us to plan for staffing and supply needs. Deadline for regular enrollment is May 20, 2022. After this date the enrollment fee will increase. Thank you!

PTG participated in several fundraisers throughout the year and we'd like to thank this year's chairs:

With the generosity of parents and supporters of PTG, we were able to:

- host Science Alive and have them present to the entire school

- partially paid for Magic Carpet Theatre

- gift Christmas gifts to all staff members

- provided sacrament gifts for newly baptised at the church, 2nd graders making their 1st Communion, and 8th graders making their Confirmation

- provided a snack and keychains for all students during Catholic School Week

- paid for Teacher Appreciation Week festivities

- funded lunch for field day

- purchased requests from teachers

- funded 8th and kindergarten graduation

- provided a $300 scholarship for 8th graders attending a Catholic High School


In addition, PTG:

- created a Parent FB page

- regularly updated the bulletin board in the cafeteria

- created a balloon arch for 1st day of school

- hosted Daddy/Daughter Dance

- held Halloween Fun Night

- made treats for students before Thanksgiving break

- gave all students a Christmas craft

- helped at Open House

- held a movie night in the gym

- created and designed the 2021-2022 yearbook

- planned Teacher Appreciation Week activities

- hosted Mother/Son bowling

- assisted in the Parish Picnic

- helped organize the Easter Egg Hunt

Summer Lunches at Rasey Memorial/Luna Pier Branch Library

Rasey Memorial/Luna Pier Branch Library will be serving summer lunches to children up to and including 18 years of age, starting Tuesday, June 21st. These free lunches will be served Mondays-Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. at the library located at 4349 Oak Street, Luna Pier. All are welcome, the lunches are not restricted by income. After each lunch, there will be some type of activity, crafts, movies, games, etc.


Please call the library to register your child/children. The children do not need to attend every day but we do need to know when they are coming to assure enough lunches. We also do not need to know attendance for the whole summer, just a day or two in advance.
