School Garden News!
It's planting time! Our school has a small garden box located on the west side of the building outside of the cafeteria. In the past, school families have planted and cared for the garden throughout the summer. Our harvest is donated to local areas in need such as MCOP in Monroe, or other organizations that can take fresh food. The care involves helping to plant items such as tomatoes, and other vegetables that can be decided by the students, light weeding and watering once a week on Fridays after the 8:30 Mass (roughly 9:15), and helping to harvest vegetables as they ripen. This does not have to be an every week commitment, but rather taking turns with families, or helping as you can. Please contact Christy Mercurio if you are interested in helping: 734-344-1840, christy.mercurio@stjosepherie.com
