Benchmarks Assessments
- Benchmark Assessment should be used to guide instruction.
- These assessments should be administered with fidelity so we have accurate information about the students.
- First shipment of copies from PRINT - IT has arrived.
High Frequency Words
High Frequency Word List:
- We have a finalized list.
- This list was pulled from Dolch, F &P, and Learning Continnum and collaboratively combined to create a user friendly consistent set of High Frequency words for our district.
- These are HIGH FREQUENCY words and not a spelling list.
- This does NOT replace the spelling inventory. The spelling inventory is to be used for identifying weak spelling patterns so it can be addressed with instruction.
- Content area words need to be displayed separately.
- Words should be introduced as part of instruction and then displayed.
- Students should track which words are tricky to them and practice that word.
- 3rd - 5th Grade may use the portable word wall option.
- The words at each grade level need to be mastered by the end of school year.
