Welcome to the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year! We hope everyone had a great holiday and enjoyed the extra time with your children. We are sure glad to have them back with us!


Report Cards will be sent home on January 17th.


We will not have school on January 16th. Please plan ahead for that day.

Meet a new member of our school family, Tripp!

We are blessed to have a therapy dog in training. Tripp has not started at Sonora Elementary yet, but he will very soon. Tripp will spend the day with Mrs. Harp, but he will be supporting students, both individual and groups.


Therapy dogs provide many benefits. They help children learn compassion, empathy, responsibility, respect, and self-discipline. Trained therapy dogs offer comfort and non-judgmental love with studies to prove that even a short time with a dog can decrease levels of anxiety and increase emotional security.

Scholars Shining Bright Award

Our mission statement is high learning for ALL! Please use this form to nominate a staff member who exemplifies our mission of high learning and shining bright! Each recipient will receive a certificate, be announced on the morning announcements, and posted on social media. We will continue to recognize our students with the 'Shining Bright Award' as they are nominated by students.
