Health Office Connection
As the weather changes, please be sure that your child wears appropriate clothing for the changing temperatures
Due to limiting the amount of people in and out of our building this year, the following programs will be on hold for this school year
- The annual hearing and vision screenings
- The annual visit from The Mobile Dentist
Coming to Davis in early November - we will be having a special video program from the Land of Smiles for the children to watch along with small gift bags to promote good oral hygiene.
Students are not allowed to bring coughs, gum or peppermint candies to school. A Physician order is needed for all over the counter types of medications. The Medication Administration form can be obtained on the district website. Physicians must complete and sign the top portion and parents need to sign the bottom portion before any medications are given. You should not be sending any medications to school with the children in their backpacks. Please drop off the medication along with the completed form to the Nurse.
If your child has been injured and/or cannot participate in PE/Recess, please call the Health Office to inform the Nurse of the situation. A physician note with all restrictions is required for the child’s safety. We will do our best to meet our students needs but need to have the information to do so. A release will need to be obtained before the child can return without restrictions. We will always encourage students to go outside with their class for “fresh air”.

Davis Primary
Davis Veterans Day Celebration
Davis will be observing Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11th. Although we cannot have guests inside our building, we would love to honor our Veterans with a drive through celebration where they can come and pick up a small gift as a token of our appreciation between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. We are also creating a short video presentation to honor and thank our veterans.
We need your help! We would love to include pictures of our Veterans in our presentation. Please reach out to family members and direct them to this form to be included in our video and to RSVP for the Davis drive through. Please complete the form by November 4th.
Parent Reminders
We ask that parents leave their pets at home when dropping off your students or picking them up. We have some students who are very afraid of dogs or have allergies to them.
When dropping off your children in the car lane please DO NOT make a U turn or pull into driveways to turn around. This is very dangerous and there are signs on 7th Street prohibiting this. Thank you for your cooperation.
Walking Club
Our Davis Tigers are proud to report how many miles they have logged since the beginning of the year. They average 3 miles a week and have walked a total of 141 miles! Here are the class stats!

Although we cannot have guests inside our building, we would love to celebrate our Veterans with a drive through celebration where they can come and pick up a small gift as a token of our appreciation between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. We need your help! We would love to include pictures of our Veterans in our presentation. Please reach out to families members and direct them to this form to be included in our video!

CogAT Testing
CogAT Testing will take place for 3rd and 5th graders at Richmond on 11/10, 11/11 and 11/12, 3rd and 5th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). Remote learners have the option to take the test at Haines. Please see the attached letter, here for details. The test consists of three short sections, 40-45 minutes each.
The CogAT is not an achievement test. Instead, it measures a student’s reasoning abilities which can facilitate his/her learning and problem-solving. CogAT scores report an individual’s verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal reasoning abilities. The test scores may be used to adapt instruction and programs to the needs and abilities of students. Information is also used as a piece of information for student programming such as Academically Talented.
You will receive a report with your child’s performance on these tests in January. We appreciate your support of our academic program and your partnership in facilitating your child’s learning.
Please feel free to contact Mrs. Simoncelli-Bulak, Richmond Principal at (331) 228-2800 or lisa.simoncelli-bulak@d303.org if you have any questions.
