The Richardson Review
March 26, 2023
Dear Richardson Families
Congratulations to Preston Yang from Mrs. Pearce's 3rd grade! He was the winner of our Spring Break BINGO Challenge - so he won a free book!
This week we all enjoyed reconnecting after spring break. Monday morning our hallways and classrooms were buzzing with joy and excitement as everyone greeted each other with hugs, smiles and lots of sharing about their favorite spring break memories. While the weather over spring break may have made it feel more like winter break, Monday was also exciting because it marked the official first day of spring!!!
While it is wonderful to have some warmer days that feel more like spring, please remember to still send winter gear with your students everyday - as our playground still has LOTS of snow on it...and unfortunately it will take quite a long time for it all to melt. I will include information below around appropriate clothing based on the temperature. This is something we will share with our students, but is also helpful for families to refer to it as you send items to school with your students and have conversations with them around the expectations at school.
Temperature Guidelines for Recess
60 degrees - no jacket needed
50-59 degrees - jacket or long sleeves
40-49 degrees - jacket and long pants
30-39 degrees - jacket, hat and mittens or gloves
***Please continue to bring snow boots until all the snow has melted from our playground.
As always, if you have questions around any of the information in this newsletter, feel free to reach out to me at mhoude@isd622.org or 651-748-6910 (and/or you can always reach out to our main office at 651-748-6900).
Sincerely,
Melissa Houde - Principal
