Dear WLCSD Parents:

Walled Lake Schools wants to ensure parents are ready to assist their children with both Our Path and My Path. The WLCSD Learning Services Department has planned a virtual Parent Technology Info-Session, for Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 7 p.m. If you are unable to attend this session, we are taping and will make it available following the event. Here are the details:

PLE Supply Pick Up Date

We are currently working on a supply pick up date where we will be handing our math journals, last year's yearbook and some other supplies to assist families. The date of the pick up will be shared shortly.


We want to make sure all children and families are ready for the 2020-21 school year. Here is the: Chromebook Distribution Form (Please complete this form for each student that needs a Chromebook, even if they currently have a District Chromebook. If they already have one, your child will be able to keep the one they have.)

  1. Complete this Google Form for each student that needs a Chromebook
  2. An email will be sent to the email address submitted letting family know the Chromebook is available for pickup.


Dear Kindergarten Families

Welcome to Pleasant Lake Elementary!! The beginning of Kindergarten is a very exciting time in your child’s life and we look forward to a great school year. Regardless of the path your family chose, your child is in kind, capable hands with our kindergarten teachers and our entire staff.


To help our youngest learners transition into kindergarten, WLCSD will be utilizing a staggered start on the first day of school, Monday, August 31st. Please note the following information:

  • Students with Last Name starting with A-L attend Kindergarten in the Morning - 9:00am - 12:00pm.

  • Students with Last Name starting with M-Z attend Kindergarten in the Afternoon - 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Please Note: The staggered start is for the first day of school (August 31) only. After the first day of school, all kindergartners will attend school for the full day (9:00-4:00 on Monday,/Tuesday/Thursday and 9:00-3:00 Wednesday/Friday).

More information will be shared by your child's teacher at a later date. We wanted to be sure you had the staggered start information to plan accordingly. Continue to enjoy your summer!

WLCSD Food Service Breakfast and Lunch: Parents pre-order breakfasts and lunches by completing this Food Service Order Form by Thursday at midnight August 27 for the week of August 31 This is for all open school days and for Walled Lake Consolidated School Students. Pick up is at the three high schools between the hours of 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Meals will need to be ordered each week (we will send an email reminding you). We will continue serving meals to Walled Lake Consolidated School Students every week while school is in session.

Walled Lake Schools has streamlined the annual registration/first-day packet process for ALL K-12 families. The District will be using the Family Access/Skyward system to automate the process for updating and completing documents such as the emergency card, Food Service application, FERPA form, fee payments, Code of Conduct, and other important annual school forms that require parent approval.

Skyward Family Access is how parents access the back-to-school packet.

A Skyward Family Access parent account is required in order to complete the Online Back-to-School Packet process for all schools. (A parent account username is alphanumeric - SMITHMAD000; a student account username is the student's ID number - 1234567.) To obtain a Family Access account, email from your email account on file with the district or call 248-956-2190 (email is best). Please include ALL of the following information in the body of your message. You will be contacted within 3 business days.

  • Guardian Name
  • Your student name(s) and name of schools they attend in Walled Lake Schools
  • Guardian's email address currently on file with the district
  • Daytime phone number

Yearbook Update

Yearbooks have been mailed out to all of our 5th graders from last school year. Remaining students will have their yearbooks provided on our supply pick up day. Stay tuned for more information.

Know What's Going On At Pleasant Lake Elementary!

Communication is very important to us at Pleasant Lake Elementary. Parents will be notified and updated in a variety of ways throughout the school year.


It is critical that parents keep an updated email address and let us know if it changes as soon as possible. Parents may update this information for us on Skyward Family Access. All teachers at Pleasant Lake utilize Skyward Family Access to communicate with parents. Report cards, lunch account information, progress reports, attendance and other important information will always be posted on Skyward Family Access. If you are a new family to Walled Lake Schools or have misplaced or lost your Family Access ID and password, please click HERE to get connected.


Our school newsletter will be sent electronically to parents once a week. An archive of newsletters is also posted to our school website under the For Parents tab. You will find links to important documents, websites from your child's classroom, PTA forms and information, and important updates and forms that you will need to access.
