Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year!
We are excited and ready to welcome 290 students (PreK-12) to NCCS for the new school year. Of those, 66 are new students, which we give an extra special welcome to! Our classes are full, with waiting lists in many grades. We believe God has brought us all together and we praise him for all he is doing within our sweet school!
We are planning for students to enjoy all the benefits of a "regular" school experience, with full days of school (in person) for everyone, including PE, Library, Music, Art, Sports, Chapel, Field Trips, Programs, and much more! Our teachers have been working on their classrooms, making it welcoming and special for students. We are excited to see you, and to grow closer to God as we learn together this year!
School entry gates will be opened at 8:05 am and closed at 8:15 am. Any students arriving after the start of school, must enter through the office to check in as tardy. It is imperative to your student's success that they arrive on time, ready to learn each day. We know that on occasion something (traffic, over sleeping, rough start at home, etc.) may happen that causes a student to be late, but this should be very rare. Thank you for making this a priority.
School Hours:
Preschool, 8-11:30 am
K-6th, 8:15 am-2:30 pm
7-12th, 8:15 am-3 pm
EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM (EDP):
For those needing before and/or after school care, this will be available for pre-registered students, starting on the first day of school. Our program is for NCCS students in K-6th grade, and is run out of the Preschool building. Please attend to the designated registration process prior to accessing this service, should it be needed by your family. Space is limited. Questions should be directed to the school office.
EDP Hours:
Before School, 7:30-8:15 am
After School, 2:30-5 pm
EXCLUSION POLICY: Please be attentive to the expectation that any person who has been exposed to another individual with Covid-19, should not be present at school. The required quarantine period must be followed for managing this virus. It is also expected that parents will notify the office in such cases, and stay in contact with the office throughout the quarantine. This continued contact will help the school to support the family with managing student work, timelines, and other necessary assurances for re-entry back to school. These measures are in place for a healthy school for all students, their families, and our staff. Thank you for supporting our community by doing your part regarding this expectation. Please see the Communicable Disease Plan attached below for all details. Any questions should be directed to mckenzie_falotico@ncchristianschool.com.

COVID Updates
Outdoor Face Coverings at School:
The new Oregon rule on outdoor face coverings does not determine how schools will operate. Schools are allowed to permit outdoor activity for students without face coverings. NCCS is in compliance with this rule by permitting student choice for wearing face coverings outside when at school.
Vaccinations for Volunteers in School:
The new Oregon rule for COVID-19 vaccinations for those who volunteer to work with students in a school setting will be followed at NCCS. Within the process for signing up to volunteer, we will now include a background check, training, and proof of COVID vaccination (copy of card on file). There are two exceptions allowed for this rule: (1) Medical, (2) Religious. Forms are available through the volunteer process for those who seek to apply an exception to the requirement.
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.

Galatians 5:13-26, ESV
Life by the Spirit
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
