The war and the aftermath
There were a lot of causes that created the war, money, broken promises, goods that were never received, and assimilation policies. Almost 90 Dakota died, and over 500 settlers died. The Dakota were winning at first but slowly after the Dakota were being defeated. The war finished in September 3rd 1862 with the Dakota defeated.
After the war a lot of the settlers had to leave there cities because the Dakota would burn it down and the U.S. had 303 people that were going to be killed but Lincoln got it down to only 32. the biggest execution in the history of the U.S. and over 300 were sent to the camps and died and a lot of the innocent Dakota got exiled.
