Device Care
Device Care:
* NO eating around the device.
* NO drinking around the device.
* Wash hands before using the device.
* Be sure to charge the device each night so it's ready for the morning.
* Keep the device in a safe place when it's not in use (not outside, not in a car, not where others can get to it).
* Use gentle hands when using the device.
* Close tabs/apps you don't need--having several tabs/apps open slows the device's performance (click X to close tabs on Chromebook; double click the home button on iPad and swipe up to clear apps).
**This is your child's only device and it's ONLY for the child's use. Personal email and Apple accounts for adults are not acceptable. Personal photos are not allowed.
**WiFi boxes are for scholar learning and only hold so much data. If a second box is needed due to the number of children online, please let us know.
**There will be a limited amount of staff at the building from 10:00am-1:00pm for tech support. Come to the front door and ring the bell.
**You can also 317-226-4103 from 8:00am-2:00pm for tech support.
M. A 2:00 p. M. Para obtener asistencia técnica.
Tips for Families During Virtual Learning
- Be aware of your scholar's environment and eliminate distractions (talking, yelling, cursing, TV, other electronics, etc).
- Please don't do your scholars' work for them. We welcome you helping them login and assisting in finding assignments, but please allow the scholar to do the work. Teachers need to know what a scholar knows, not what a parent knows. Thank you for understanding.
- Scholars may benefit from earbuds or headphones. DollarTree usually has these for $1.
- School is from 8am-2pm and your scholar is expected to be present during those times (breaks for restroom, movement, lunch, etc will be provided).
- Please limit non-essential travel/errands during the school day so that your scholar may be in attendance in their virtual classroom.
- If parents have a question for the teacher, please put it in the chat; do not talk on the mic. If your question isn't about the current lesson, please speak to the teacher during their office hours (7:30-8:00am and 2:00-2:30pm).
- Do your best to provide your scholar with a routine. A set bedtime (doctors recommend 9-11 hours of sleep), a morning routine of breakfast and preparing to login by 8am, a quiet, distraction-free space for learning that is close to the internet router are all best practices for virtual learning.
- If a scholar is having issues with Blackboard (and they've cleared out other apps/tabs, are close to their router, turned off other devices that use the internet, etc) they may need to CLEAR THEIR CACHE. Find a video of HOW to do that on IPAD and on CHROMEBOOK.
Are You Having Issues on Your iPad with Safari
Try using the Blackboard icon instead of typing in the address (see image below)
