Miss Walker's Weekly Bulletin
Room 301
What is a weekly bulletin?
Week of May 9th
Last week we got to visit 3rd grade classrooms to see their living museum. Ask your child about it!
We are learning about contractions . We are finishing up our Geometry Unit this week and have a post test on Tuesday and a Performance Task on Thursday. Want extra practice, sit with your child while they work on a few problems on Ten marks.
Looking for something extra to do? Check out our class Symbaloo with a ton of links to dino research, books, videos, and games. I also posted a classmate survey in Google Classroom for a project we will be working on. In order to log in with our the password, log in through the Cloud.
PE We have PE on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday this week, please dress appropriately.
Library Bring your book on Tuesday
Have you heard about Riddle Cube, the fun critical thinking game that practices geometry and is perfect for the whole family. Here's a link in case you wanted to get it!
Congratulations to Table I for being the table point winners last week. Thanks for showing respect, making good choices, and solving your problems! We switched groups so we'll have a new winner on Friday.
Summer Enrichment Class
I will be teaching a STEM class this summer. We'll be building roller coasters, a wind-powered maze, and a protective container for an egg drop. Registration will be coming soon but I wanted to give you a heads-up for summer planning!
The San Marcos Promise is proud to announce LEAP, Learning Enrichment to Achieve the Promise, an exciting new summer enrichment opportunity for students. This program, for students entering grades K-6 in the 2016-17 school year, is intended to provide enrichment courses designed and taught by talented SMUSD educators.
A recent poll of parents suggests interest in a variety of courses from character education and leadership to STEAM, VAPA, cooking and nutrition. Our goal is to provide students the chance to take a LEAP into summer by enrolling in a course designed to build pathways to 21st Century Success. Who better to design these pathways than our very own passionate teachers?
This year we will run two five day sessions. All sessions will run 9AM-12PM, Monday through Friday.
Session 1 June 27th – July 1st San Elijo Elementary School
Session 2 August 1st – August 5th Paloma Elementary School
