Bobcat Bulletin

Dear FSS Staff,
1. Students academic achievement in ELA and math
2. Focus on College and Career readiness
3. Healthy student, parent and community relationships-Leadership empowerment
We have worked on student achievement by:
-analyzing the rigor of tasks and seat work (DOK 2 and 3)
-aligning and planning together in our PLC's
-tracking our progress on objectives with common assessments and WIGS
-intentional ELD lessons and structured time
-detailed Interventions K-6 with purposeful small group in gen ed classes
Our DO will be looking for these focus areas as they walk through. I will highlight our work around RIGOR, ALIGNMENT and INTERVENTION/SMALL GROUPS. So, think of it as if company is coming to our house and we need to "clean-up." We are actually really clean, but even a clean "house" gets a sprucing up for guests.
Please spend this week tidying up your rooms, organizing and refreshing tired bulletin boards. ALIGN your lesson with your grade level. Meet with your team and decide what ELA/writing standard/objective you will be teaching. I will ask grade level leaders to send me the objective and lesson you will be teaching so I am prepared share with the DO. Be intentional about the tasks you ask students to complete. I will send out an email tomorrow with a check list for us to reflect on. We have set aside a day of "ghost walk-throughs" this Thursday. Teachers will all spend an hour walking through 8 classrooms and leave feed back for each teacher using our agreed upon expectations.
Here is the schedule I have so far for Nov 3rd:
