Homeschooling! Is it the best option for you?
Are you tired and upset with how traditional schools are ran? Are you worried about your child`s safety in a traditional school? Are you religious and what your religion to be a big part of your child`s life? If you said yes to any of these things homeschooling would be a great option for you!
So what is homeschooling?
Homeschooling, also known as home education has been going on since people started trying to read and write, is when a child does not go to traditional schools or private schools, but gets their education else where. Its called homeschool but a lot of the time homeschooling does not happen at home; it can happen at someone else`s home, a community place or even the teachers house. The kids still have a set curriculum they follow and have the supervision from an umbrella school.
Whats the word on homeschooled kids?
It is said that the kids are well prepared to continue education beyond their homeschool learning environment, unlike some people think. The kids also appear to be more autonomous.
Home School Locations
In your home
You can have what looks like a real classroom in the comfort of your own home.
With your church
Some religious centers offer homeschooling through them and your child can get their education and religion in one.
With your friends/neighboors
Your kids can be in a "class" with friends, family or neighbors so its more like a real classroom with other kids in it besides siblings.
Skeptics "Negative aspects" of homeschooling
Some people think that kids not going to the traditional or private school can miss out on different social benefits that other kids are getting like getting involved with kids of different backgrounds. They also think there is a sacrifice for married couples since one would have to give up a full time job to teach the kids causing money problems. Another negative aspect some people see is that you would be with your kids 24/7, you wouldn't get a break when you went to work or when they went to school because your work is being their teacher and their school is your class.
