Waiting

Waiting is hard. And whether you’re waiting in traffic, waiting for the seasons to change, waiting for your spouse to get home from a work trip, or waiting for your dream to come true — waiting is never fun. Chances are if we’re waiting for something, that means we want it pretty bad, but we don’t have it yet.

I don’t know what you’re waiting on right now, but I invite you to draw strength not only from those who have waited before us but from God himself. Draw strength from His promises.

We are not alone when we wait. God is with us and He wants us to pour our hearts out to Him. He wants us to trust and find refuge in Him. So, I pray that as we wait, we will hold on to these truths and we will let God’s Word renew our souls. Whatever He has for us is worth the wait.

Lord,

Help me to trust You as I wait for the things I desperately want. Help me not become discouraged or depressed, but help me take my place joyfully with all the saints who persevered through the wait you had for them.

In Jesus’ Name, I pray,

Amen.

Teacher Updates

3rd Grade Teacher: Ms. Stacey Smith

My name is Stacey Smith, and this will be my first full-time teaching position, but not my first year at Holy Cross. I spent the last six months of the 2018-2019 school year here – first as a student teacher in the fifth grade, and then as a substitute in fourth grade for the remaining three months.

In between there, I had the wonderful opportunity to substitute at Notre Dame Elementary in DePere and then was hired on as both the middle school Social Studies teacher and third-grade co-teacher at St. John Nepomucene in Little Chute. While I enjoyed my experiences at both schools, I am thrilled to be returning to Holy Cross full time.

My favorite hobbies are reading and traveling. I’ve spent most of my life in Green Bay, but I was able to snag a student abroad semester in London as well – which inevitably led to exploring other parts of Europe alongside my studies. Needless to say, a return trip is definitely in the works.

For this year, however, I am truly excited to be teaching third grade the STREAM way, and learning how to work God’s word into every subject I can. I can also say that I am looking forward to getting to know both students and parents throughout the next ten months. Here’s to a blessed 2021-2022 school year!

Ms. Smith has been hired as a contracted teacher for 3rd grade.

Part Time Spanish Position

We are looking for the perfect individual that loves children, has great command of both the Spanish and English languages, and would want to help teach our students Spanish part-time at Holy Cross. High School Diploma, VIRTUS training, and a successful background check would also be required. Please reach out to Mrs. Peterson if you or someone you know would be interested.
