FAFSA Nights (Oct 24&29)
FAFSA/TAFSA application is open by today. We will have two application nights this year at HSE. ACC Financial Aid Bilingual Expert will be joining our nights and help the students and parents to complete their registration.
We will also have the ACC Information Table, and you will be able to talk to ACC Recruiter and ask any questions about their program.

Texas A&M College Trip (12th Grade)
We had a fantastic college trip last Tuesday with 12th graders. We had a guided tour, a prospective student information session, and seen the beautiful sites on the A&M Campus. Here are some of the pictures below from the trip.

HPS Grow Your Own Teacher Education Assistance Program
Harmony Grow Your Own Teacher Educational Assistance program application process began today, October 1st, 2019. Attached is the GYOT flyers. We are using the same GYOT poster we had from previous years (Deadline needs to be corrected :). They are sent to your campuses by CCS coordinators.

GYOT Things To Do:
- Place GYOT Poster and Flyers in areas around your campus and campus social media accounts where they are highly visible to high school seniors and alumni.
- Arrange a time for your campus CCS advisor and coordinator to make individual, small group or classroom GYOT recruitment presentation to seniors.
- Communicate with your campus star teachers who can assist you to identify the talents among seniors and alumni who are the best fit for the program.
- Create a campus newsletter for your campus seniors' parents to know this opportunity
- Reach out to your campus alumni who might have interest and skills for education career
We are super excited about this upcoming cycle and look forward to receiving a great number of applications! Our CEO, Mr. Ay, gave us a very ambitious goal of 300 applications for this year to search for homegrown talents across Harmony which is 3 times higher than last year.
Campus GYOT goals are also attached.
Some GYOT Impact History:
Since the program started, we had 17 GYOT program graduates and 15 of them are still inspiring our students every day. There are currently more than 30 active participants in the program.

There are many volunteer Harmony alum mentors registered to the program. They are trained, excited and ready to help you.

Please Note This Date on Your Calendar!
Dear 9-11th Grade Students and Parents,
We are going to have PSAT/NMSQT(The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test ) on Wednesday, October 16th. Please note this date on your calendar! Significantly, students do not miss this day of school.

This resource will answer all of the student's questions about the test, and also has a practice test that allows previewing and become familiar with the test for students.

Juniors, Apply Now!
NASA’s High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) applications due by October 23rd!
NASA wants today’s students to become the engineers, scientists, researchers and innovators of tomorrow. High School Aerospace Scholars offers a one-of-a-kind experience for Texas high school students to explore the possibilities of a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related major or career. The adventure starts this fall with an online course and culminates - for students who earn the opportunity - with an onsite summer experience at NASA's Johnson Space Center.
Eligibility:
- U.S. citizen
- Texas high school junior
- Committed to a one-year relationship with NASA
- Internet access (from home, school or public library)
Watch these videos:
During the school year you'll have the opportunity to participate in:
- Interactive lessons on NASA activities related to space exploration, earth science, technology and aeronautics
- Design challenges such as 3D drawing, video creation, interactive poster design
- Virtual chats with NASA engineers and scientists
Selected students will be invited to NASA for a week-long residential summer experience of:
- Team projects and briefings directed by NASA engineers and scientists
- Hands-on design challenge and engineering activities to plan a mission to Mars
- Tours of NASA facilities
