Reminder: STAAR Testing Approaching & Importance of Timely Arrival
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we want to remind you that STAAR testing is just around the corner. It is crucial for your child to be prepared and ready for these assessments, as they play a significant role in evaluating their academic progress. Below is the schedule for the upcoming STAAR test days:
Reading STAAR:
- 3rd Grade: April 16th
- 4th Grade: April 17th (3rd Grade Make-ups)
- 5th Grade: April 18th (4th Grade Make-ups)
- 3rd – 5th Grade Make-ups: April 19th
Science STAAR:
- 5th Grade: April 24th
Math STAAR:
- 3rd Grade: April 30th
- 4th Grade: May 1st
- 5th Grade: May 2nd
It is essential that your child arrives at school on time on these days to ensure they have the best opportunity to perform well on the tests. School doors open at 7:15 AM, and classes start promptly at 7:30 AM. Timely arrival is crucial not only during testing days but throughout the school year.
Please note that students who are consistently absent may face consequences such as not being promoted to the next grade. In such cases, they may be required to attend summer school to make up for missed academic time. Your child's attendance and punctuality are key factors in their academic success, so we appreciate your support in ensuring they are present and on time.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns regarding the upcoming STAAR testing or school attendance.
Best regards,
Corey Prados, Principal

Traffic Reminders
As we strive to ensure the safety and efficiency of our school's traffic flow, I would like to emphasize the importance of adhering to the established traffic directions. It is crucial for everyone to follow these guidelines, as doing so greatly eases the flow of traffic and contributes to a safer environment for all.
Specifically, I kindly request that there be no carpool line entrance off of Hayes and Wood Lodge. Additionally, please refrain from making a right turn after you exit from the carpool area. These guidelines are in place to help alleviate traffic congestion and facilitate a smoother experience for all families and students.
Your cooperation in following these traffic directions is greatly appreciated, and it plays a significant role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our school community. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Attendance Matters
In accordance with Texas Education Code Section 25.092 (Attendance for Credit 90% Rule), a student in any grade level from kindergarten through Grade 12 shall not be given credit or final grade for a class unless the student is in attendance 90% of the days in which the class is offered.
Students will be required to attend Saturday School if they are absent more than 90% of school days, regardless of the absence being an excused or unexcused absence.
