Mrs. Fortunato’s Message
Dear Parents,
As I reflect back on our past week, I am amazed at the commitment and dedication I witnessed each day. Our students and teachers were focused on exceptional learning. They engaged in enriching activities that complemented all areas of curriculum on each grade level. I observed students reading, writing, collaborating on assignments, and leading math activities. I observed science experiments being implemented and watched impromptu singing performances. In addition, I had the opportunity to spend time with teachers who are fully vested in improving our school's academics, spiritual development and social/emotional well-being. I am grateful that I am a part of such a loving and nurturing school community.
As you know, over the past few months the faculty has worked diligently on evaluating our school's operations to successfully achieve re-accreditation. Although the process has been time consuming, it has highlighted our school's strengths, but more importantly the process has assisted us in developing future school goals as we continue to advance toward greater things. I believe our school is the best thing going in the field of education. We offer academic rigor in a safe and loving environment that is equipped to meet the need of our student's wide-range of academic ability.
The audition for the school play was a success! We had approximately 50 students audition. More details will follow once I meet with Mrs. Hodgskin and Mrs. Dunham. For now, it seems we will consider a junior musical for the spring. So exciting!
The planning and preparation for Catholics Schools Week is well underway!
Calling all student volunteers to help with Mass on Sunday, January 26th at 10:30 am. After Mass we our school is hosting donuts and coffee in the school's Multi Purpose Room. I will need student volunteers to assist as tour guides and serving donuts! If your child is part of our Student Ambassador Program, Mrs. Severson will speak to the students this week about volunteer assignments. All current families are encouraged to attend 10:30 am Mass. Be a part of our celebration! All teachers will be available to chat and I promise you will be amazed as you visit classrooms! You will have a chance to look at all the student's work on display. To add to the fun all ICS students are invited to join a scavenger hunt throughout the schools. A prize awaits the winner!
Lastly, many clubs have been posted.
Spanish Club was a hit! There is a new incredible gym program posted too!
Please check out Happenings and the school's web site for details.
