Berenice was born in Springfield, Ohio on July 17, 1898. She lived to be 93 years old, and died because she had a problems with her lungs.
Eductaion/Famliy Background
She went to Ohio University. Abbott grew up with her mother who was divorced. In 1918 she left Ohio University, to move to new with some friends and shared an apartment with Djuna Barnes, Kenneth Burke, and Malcolm Cowley.

Berenice was known for her monochrome photography of the 1930s urban design and architecture of New York. This is what made her famous.
