MARCH MADNESS
A look back at March
A message from the Principal
Looking back, I'd have to say the month of March was a huge success! Our literacy and learning night was amazing! I want to thank everyone who came and celebrated our kids. Another big thank you to our amazing staff for organizing the event!
Looking ahead to the month of April, a couple of reminders:
April 20th will be our first ever ALL elementary family night. We are so excited to share that evening with our Garfield families and friends. For more specific details, check out the flyer in this newsletter or on our Facebook page. (The link is at the bottom of the page!) If you can't decide whether or not to attend...the prizes that have been donated from all around the community are unbelievable!
Wednesday, April 18th is the start of Forward testing. 3rd and 4th grade students take the Wisconsin Forward test. The testing dates are April 18-20 and April 23-27. We will send a parent letter home with more specific details in the upcoming weeks. Wondering how you can help increase the likelihood for success during testing time from home? A big home support is to ensure your child has a good night's rest and a well balanced breakfast. While the teachers work to give our students brain power, our parents and guardians can help to supply the brains with the energy needed to think! Home and school working together make a great team!
Until next month, enjoy spring!
Ms. Cassandra Schultz

Green Bay Bullfrogs Reading Incentive
What do you need to do?
The only thing you need to do at home is encourage your child to read as much as possible.
IMPORTANT TICKET INFORMATION
The Green Bay Bullfrogs Reading Incentive is wrapping up. The challenge was for every Garfield student to read outside of the classroom. All students that participated have earned 2 tickets to a Green Bay Bullfrog game. To help cover the cost of additional family members, our PTO is planning the Garfield Friends and Family Night the same day. Order forms are coming home TODAY for both the free tickets for students and the PTO's discounted tickets. The Green Bay Bullfrogs game to use the tickets is set for Sunday, June 3rd for a 1:05 game (Gates are open at 12:05pm). If you cannot make that game, your free tickets can be used on a selected list of other home games (5/31, 6/1, 6/7, 6/21, 6/23 or 6/24)
The Garfield Friends and Family Night tickets are $15. That includes a hot dog, soda, Bullfrogs hat, ticket, and lots of fun!!!! What a Deal! That order form is also coming home today! Go to www.greenbaybullfrogs.com click BuyTickets in the upper right corner and enter PromoCode: GARFIELD.... Tickets can also be purchased by calling 920-497-7225.
If there is enough interested families wanting to attend, the PTO has offered to provide bus transportation to Green Bay. Ticket Delivery for both types of tickets (free or specially priced) can be picked up at WILL CALL (which is free) or mailed home for an additional fee... Teachers will not be handling the tickets. Garfield Elementary will not have any tickets to sell or deliver.
