Stress is a part of any profession, but how you manage your stress will define you as an educator and as an individual. Try using any of these strategies to help you better manage your stress!

AVOID

Avoid unnecessary stress

  • Learn to say "NO"
  • Avoid people who stress you out
  • Take control of your environment
  • Avoid arguments
  • Reduce your to-do list

ALTER

Alter the situation

  • Express feelings calmly instead of bottling them up
  • Be willing to compromise
  • Be more assertive
  • Manage your time better

ACCEPT

Accept the things you cannot change

  • Do not try to control the uncontrollable
  • Look for the upside
  • Share your feelings
  • Learn to forgive

ADAPT

Adapt to the stressor

  • See your problems differently
  • Look at the big picture
  • Adjust your standards
  • Focus on the positive
