Thank Your Teachers Today
This past week, many of our families recognized our fabulous Willard teachers. Ms. Gore received tons of recognitions with Tranathan Arceneaux, Amilia Nassiri, and Kani Salh sharing that her infectious laugh and good humor makes science exciting. She has a way of making the most complex content fun and exciting—Wow! Angel Mejia said that Mr. McMurrer has been calm and kind throughout this entire school year. He makes learning fun and helps to keep everyone organized. Ms. Reheuser was described by Kate Liesemer as kind, encouraging, and positive. Ms. Reheuser is relentless and wants every student to achieve at his or her best. To keep this thankful spirit going, please complete our Willard Teacher Shout Out Form.

Setting Clear Expectations
Kiss & Ride Signage Needed
Many of our families have elected to participate in Willard's Kiss & Ride effort. This allows for parents to drop off and pick up their child(ren) each school day. For this year's Kiss & Ride dismissal process, we will do the following:
STEP 1: Before Arriving at Willard (Car Window Sign): Parents will place a sign in their front window with the first and last name of their child/children written large enough to be seen from a distance (use the visual here as a guide).
STEP 2: Curbside Pick Up (Kiss & Ride Loop, All the Way to Cafeteria Side Entrance): Parents will enter the main entrance to Willard. Using the properly labeled car window sign, Willard staff will radio for your child/children to come outside to meet you at your vehicle. Students participating in Kiss & Ride, will be located in our cafeteria at dismissal time. This means that parents will ultimately end up driving next to the cafeteria side entrance.

Quarter 3 CLAWS Awards
This Thursday, April 15, we celebrated our scholars through our quarterly Character, Leadership, Attitude, Work Ethic, and Service (CLAWS) Awards. Nearly 100 students earned top honors in their core content classes and exploratories. In addition, we were able to highlight our scholars who earned Principal's and A/B Honor Roll. We are beyond proud of them. Please use the links below to access the grade-level presentations and full video presentations.

Rock-Violinist Visits our Musicians
This week, acclaimed rock-violinist Mark Wood performed exclusively for the Willard-Lightridge Orchestra community. Mr. Wood performed and shared his musical journey in an evening session and then he offered musicians a Virtual Performance Workshop, where students participated in three virtual meets learning the song “High Hopes.” This will culminate in a virtual performance video available in June. Thank you to Mr. Carroll for organizing this interactive activity, and we were beyond impressed with all of the student participants!
New Links for Chromebook Repairs
Starting Monday, April 19, students participating in 100% distance learning will now receive on-site chromebook support at Willard Middle School. Local hardware repair centers, such as the one found at Freedom High School, will no longer be used.
For non-hardware issues that could be resolved over the phone, please continue to call the Technology Support Center at 571-252-2112. For hardware issues that require device repair, please schedule an appointment using this Willard-specific link: http://bit.ly/WMS-REPAIR
