Springville Public Library
Love Your Library Summer Reading Edition
Events to Love at Your Library this Summer
On June 6th at 10:30, Aladdin and Princess Jasmine will host our first Summer Storytime at the Springville Public Library annex. Special summer story times for children 9 years old and younger will take place every Thursday in June and July. Story time events will be at 10:30 in the Children's Annex.
The Springville Public Library is excited to offer a variety of programs designed just for teens ages 12-18 every Thursday night at 5:00. These programs will start on June 6th with Miss Kit's Bubble School for Teens and include a Hogwarts Academy, Self-Defense Class, Magic Class, Star Wars Academy, and conclude with a Summer Reading party for teens on July 18th.
The first of our Summer Reading Lunch and Learn series for adults will take place in the Main Library at noon on June 7th. This series will be hosted by local experts and cover topics of interest including Self Defense, Jewelry Making, Flower Pot Creations, Scarf Tying, and will conclude with a Summer Reading Party for adults on July 26th. If your schedule doesn't allow time to attend a Lunch and Learn, try one of our Saturday Summer Reading Classes: relaxing Chair Yoga, Genealogy, and Candy Making are some of the adult events taking place on Saturdays in the Main Library. Please call 205-467-2339 to register for Lunch and Learns or Saturday classes.
Family Art Night
Adults, teens, and families with children aged 10 and up are invited to this hands-on collage workshop with renowned New York pop artist Michael Albert. Albert is the author of "An Artist's America," which features examples of his own signature brand of collage art dubbed 'Cerealism.' It all began in 1996 when Albert began using empty cereal boxes to create collage art. Michael Albert is a father of four and is committed to helping kids and adults release their inner artist while inspiring them to treat each other and the planet kindly.
His programs are fun for the whole family so come make your own pop art creating on Wednesday, June 19 at 5:00 PM at the Springville Public Library! Registration is requested for this event via Facebook (click "Going"), in person at the main library, or by phone at 467-2339.
