AVA Family Update
May 19, 2023
Good afternoon AVA Families,
We have another standard schedule next week and it is pictured below. We have finished our MCAS Math testing and have only Science left in June. For all 9th graders, and selected students in other grades, you will be expected to be in-person for these tests. I'll reach out individually to students and families next week if we are expecting you.
I have important information for seniors below, and the guidance update contains SAT information that is vitally important for current Juniors. The dates and registration windows for all of next year are included so please take note.
Our community updates include a last notice on Fee for Service Busing. For those who are returning to AHS in person next year and want to be included in busing, this is vitally important.
I thank you for your time.

Seniors - Last Week
Friday is the Seniors' last day. We will be accepting work until Friday morning. Anyone who is failing a class that is required for graduation will be notified on Friday afternoon.
I have now contacted all families and confirmed plans for graduation. For students who will be participating, it is vitally important to attend the rehearsals after Memorial Day. I've included the Senior Update below again if you have any questions.
For the seniors who will not be joining us, we will begin arranging either pick-up or shipment of diplomas the Monday after the ceremony.
Regardless of your participation in the ceremony, you will need to clear your obligations to receive your diploma. I know of no outstanding fees owed by any students, but some of you have Chromebooks you will need to return. Please be prepared to bring it to get your cap and gown, or talk to me about how we will get these devices back.

Guidance Update
Grades 9-12 - NCAA Registration
This is another kind reminder to students and families who are interested in participating in collegiate sports to register online with the NCAA. Although you may register even after high school graduation, we recommend doing so while still enrolled in high school to ensure a smoother transfer of school records and information. AVA's CEEB code for NCAA registration is: 220067.
