Dealey Montessori
August 9, 2022
The mission of George Bannerman Dealey is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society.
Dear Dealey Parents,
We are so excited to welcome our students and families to Meet the Teacher night this week! Our staff has been working tirelessly in preparing for your return. Our custodial team has been working over time in cleaning, waxing, painting, repairing, and preparing a beautiful space for you all. Our teachers have been in professional development, working with teams, creating lessons, and organizing classrooms. Our support staff is working behind the scenes to make sure bulletin boards, car tags, arrival, dismissal, and every in and out of our building is in top shape before Thursday.
Dealey's Meet and Greet is also your chance to experience walking into the classroom with your children, take pictures, and enjoy all the "first day of school" moments. On August 15th, all children will be greeted by our joyful staff through the carpool line or bus transportation. To foster independence, set strong routines, and protect all our students, families will not be able to escort children into the building on Monday.
Teachers Pk-3rd grade will give each student a lanyard with information to help us guide them to the correct class. We hope to see many of you on Thursday. Get ready for a fresh new start!
More Information can be found on our PTA E-Blast. Subscribe and follow.
Sincerely,
Cristina Ibarra (Principal)

Jennifer Whidby
First and foremost, I identify as a proud mother of three humans, one black cat, and the most chill dogster. In May, my two daughters and I all celebrated graduation. As a family we earned one high school diploma, one bachelor's, and one master's degree. I've been a Computer, Religious Studies, a Lower Elementary Montessori teacher, an Upper Elementary Montessori Teacher Aide, a Junior High Special Education Science Inclusion Specialist, and now a Technology Teacher. It's not everyone's traditional teaching path, but that's what happens when you're a person with various interests and neurodivergent. I've also been an award-winning photographer, a health insurance agent, volunteer soccer, tee-ball, and flag football coach, AND I earned a black belt in TKD by the time I was forty. I deeply believe that coffee is the most important meal of the day. One of the most exciting things to happen to me was getting hired this summer at Dealey. I am super grateful and hope to be a great addition to the staff.

Laurie Kirk
Ms. Kirk worked in the advertising industry for 20 years before finding her place in education. Ms. Kirk was a special education teacher for 14 years, before earning her master's degree in school counseling from San Angelo State. She's been a school counselor for the past 4 years and is thrilled to join Dealey this upcoming school year. She has been married to her best friend for 29 years and is the proud mom of 3 girls who exceed every expectation she ever had for them!
Julia Massarelli
Hello Everyone! I am beyond excited to start my journey with the Dealey community. A little about me is that I am originally from a suburb of Chicago. When I graduated from Saint Louis University last May, I took a job here in Dallas at Baylor. For the last year I have been growing personally and professionally on an abdominal transplant unit. As my one year as a RN approached I was looking for a change. Every job search led back to wanting to work with kiddos. I was fortunate enough to have applied and hired for this position. My school RN when I was in elementary school was awesome and I hope to make some sort of impact on the students as well. I am super ecstatic for this school year and cannot wait to meet everyone!!
