Middle School Prep for Parents!

Monday May 19th, 7-9PM at the Phinney Neighborhood Center

Is Your Child Moving From 5th to 6th Grade in the Fall of 2014? Do You Have Questions?

The move from Elementary to Middle School is big. For children AND for parents. It is also a time of great potential if you learn how to better understand the process and your child at this age...ahead of time.

You'll Learn What to Expect Regarding:

  • Expectations of Your Child: What exactly will your child be expected to figure out in order to be prepared academically? Can you help? What is too much? What is too little?
  • Adolescence and Schooling: How will your role as a parent change now that your child is expected to be more independent, but is also still in need of guidance? Learn applicable tools to be supportive, firm, and loving while building self-reliance in your child.
  • Emotional Shifts in the House: Yes, this will happen... and you can be ready to deal with it in a way that builds connection, rather than feelings of alienation and confusion between you and your child.

Cost: $45 dollars per person or $60 for a couple. Class limited to the first 25 people.
