A Message from Mrs. Caudill
I am constantly telling people how wonderful the Amerman community is. I will go on and on (to anyone that will listen) about the level of support provided to our students and teachers. Last weekend was proof of that! Thank you to the families that come together to revamp our grounds for the spring. I wish I could have been there to help! A special thank you to Julie Y. for organizing this event. Also, a thank you to the members of Boy Scout Troop 755 who helped as well.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Stay Well,
Devon Caudill

Covid Information and Updates
NPS COVID RESPONSE REMINDER
Updated 5/14/2022
COVID-19 cases increased across the state and in our community over the past few weeks placing our county and many counties across the state in a “HIGH” community risk category. The CDC and MDHHS recommend that individuals wear masks indoors and on public transportation. At all levels, the CDC recommends people get vaccinated and boosted, and get tested if they have symptoms, and suggests that anyone wanting to wear a mask should do so.
This is a reminder to our students, staff and families to be mindful of the current community level and plan accordingly for the needs of yourself and family members. Under the CDC and MDHHS guidance, risk levels are based on hospital capacity, hospital COVID admissions and COVID-19 cases.
SCREENING and REPORTING REMINDERS
As a reminder, PLEASE continue to use the COVID screener tool EACH day. Children who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 need to stay home from school and parents need to seek medical attention. This is an important measure that will help prevent or reduce the spread of the virus in our schools. In addition, please contact your child’s school via the attendance line and report that there is a positive case in your household. Do not send your child to school if there is a COVID positive case in your household. You will receive further instructions from your school and we will follow the NPS COVID RESPONSE PROTOCOL, as recommended by MDHHS.
BUILDING and DISTRICT CASE REPORTING
If you would like to be aware of the cases reported to each building, please visit the NPS COVID-19 Case Transparency Report, found under the COVID-19 Dashboard link on the main page of the district website. This transparency report is updated throughout the week with cases identified by building and grade level.

Families must preorder lunches for preschools and elementary students. Orders must be in by 8:30 AM for elementary students to receive a lunch that day. The system will not allow you to order after the time listed above. For your convenience, meals can be preordered up to 30 days in advance. To avoid any issues, we recommend ordering the night before.

May Focus - Habit 8: Find your Voice!
This month’s Habit: Habit #8 - Find your Voice
What this means: Find your voice means finding something that you are good at and like doing. You are proud, but do not boast. Instead, you use your expertise to help and inspire others.
Physical: Learn your true nature and gifts, then use them to envision what you can achieve.
Social/Emotional: We all have a purpose and special talents.
Mental: Transcend the negative culture of ego, scarcity, comparison, and competitiveness.
Spiritual: Be a catalyst to the success of something bigger than ourselves.
What I can do:
- Try something new like painting, horseback riding, or baseball. Then ask yourself: Did I enjoy myself? Was it easy or hard? Do I want to learn more?
- Go to the library or search the internet to find reading material on new things. What kinds of things spark your interest? What do you want to continue learning about?
- Plan some time to help someone in need. How did the experience make you feel?
Great Books for Habit #8- Find Your Voice
- Wonder by: R.J. Palacio
- The Lion Inside by: Rachel Bright
- Separate is Never Equal by: Duncan Tonatiuh
- Wonderland by: Barbara O'Connor
- Those Shoes by: Maribeth Boelts
