Report Cards and Interviews!
Interviews for SENIOR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS will begin on Tuesday February 2nd with limited space before and after school.
Interviews for EVERYONE will take place from Tuesday February 9th until Friday February 12th (which is a PADay for students).

A February Calendar will be available on Monday. Special Helpers will not be doing Show and Tell this month - just helping around the classroom.
Each week we explore our Hillside Garden and the community around us. Parents are always welcome to join us for the walk. We will be leaving for our walk at 9:00 on Friday morning and should be returning by 9:30. If you would like to join us, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
PLEASE NOTE: Kindergarten begins at 9:00am. Lunch is at 11:30am until 12:30pm. Dismissal is at 3:05pm. Throughout the day we may be anywhere in the school or school yard, and at lunch children are under the supervision of a lunchroom supervisor. Therefore, to ensure the safety of all students and for ease of pick up or drop off, we ask the following:
If your child must be away for a morning due to an appointment, please drop your child off at 12:30.
If your child must be away for an afternoon for an appointment, please pick your child up at 11:30.
Please do not forget that Runnymede is a NUT-FREE building... even foods that have come in contact with nuts (ie/ trail mixes) should not be sent to school!
Please Return All Classroom Materials On Mondays!
Zippies should come back and forth to school and home each day: That way, we can ensure that any messages from school or from home are being received. Thanks
We have been getting lots of notes in the zippie along the lines of "Can you please help my child find his/her lost item." We use many techniques in the classroom to ensure that children are keeping track of their belongings. However, with 30 students, it is very challenging for us to keep track of all of their things. You can help in lots of ways:
- please make sure ALL of their belongings have their name clearly labeled on them.
- please talk to your child about the things that they are bringing to school. Make sure they look at and can recognize their belongings.
In the event that they do forget or loose something, we will (a) put it in their cubby for them (if it is labelled), or (b) put it in the lost and found located inside our balcony doors. (Interview time is a great opportunity for parents to check our lost and found and the school lost and found for any missing items.)
As the weather is getting cooler, we are coming to school with more layers. We have heard that some layers are going missing. We do have a lost and found bin (located just inside our balcony door). However, we can better make sure that lost items are being returned to their owner if each item is labeled with your child's name and classroom number (126a). This includes any hats, mitts, and scarves.
It is not uncommon for student to return to school in the new year a little bit bigger than when they left. Parents might want to send in new spare clothing to ensure that it fit. If you would like to swap your child's spare clothes or indoor shoes, please send them in your child's zippie and we will help your child make the switch.
Finally, in large, older schools, it is sometimes difficult to maintain consistent temperatures. Some days our room is very hot, and some days it is very cold. Please send your child to school in layers that can be removed or added as needed.
