The Crossing
Welcome Back - 2020-2021
Dear Brooks Crossing Families,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. Although this year will not be like any other school opening, we have experienced how our community pulls together to make great things happen. As a school community, we have used the summer months to reflect, plan, learn and adjust. We are confident that this year will be a great one.
While we are beginning the year with remote instruction, our teachers are excited to welcome your child(ren) into their virtual classrooms. They are energized and prepared to make a connection and provide the quality instruction that Brooks Crossing students are accustomed to. Our goal, just like in the physical classroom setting, is to promote each child's individuality and get to know their interests, strengths, and areas for growth. Regardless of the setting, we know that the greatest growth occurs when children are able to build confidence in their academic skills and enjoy their school experience.
We recognize that the upcoming remote learning experience is not easy and expect that challenges will arise. We will all work together! Please communicate with us so we can support you, and especially your student, through this endeavor. We know it will be hard work for our students, for our families, and for our teachers and staff, but recognize that we can do our best when we all work together. Even though we will face challenges, we will work through them and, in doing so, will build confidence, independence and intrinsic motivation within our Brooks Crossing students.
Open lines of communication are important, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us by email or by calling the Main Office. We also want to ensure that you have the information that you need. Follow us on Facebook to stay up to date about events, information, and also to view pictures and videos of the happenings at Brooks Crossing. We will also be sending regular newsletters as updates become available. Now is a great time to log into your Genesis Parent Portal to make sure that all contact information is up-to-date, and that you have chosen to receive both emergency and non-emergency communications. This will ensure that you won't miss any school or district communication.
Are you ready for school? Do you have:
- A working device to join classes (or have you already completed the form saying you need one)?
- Your grade level supplies? Click here if you need to see it again.
- Your positive attitude ready to go?
If you are having any trouble with the top two items, and we can help, please do not hesitate to contact us.
This year, our district theme is, "There is always a sliver lining . . . Find yours." We are excited to say that we have great confidence in our plans for our upcoming remote learning structure and know that you will be able to find many silver linings in these next few months!
Enjoy the last little bit of summer- make memories, have fun, and stay safe. We look forward to virtually seeing all of our students for the first day of school on September 8th!
Sincerely,
Jaime Maccarone, Principal
Lisa Rogol, Assistant Principal

Visiting Brooks Crossing - Keeping our Community Safe
For the health and safety of families, students, and staff, parents and other visitors should come to the building for emergency situations only. In these cases, we ask that you call to let us know of your need to come to the building so that we can plan and prepare accordingly. Please note that should a parent/visitor need to report to the building, we will be utilizing our secure intercom system to screen visitors. We will do our best to support you through the intercom system, but it is unlikely that you will be admitted into the building without prior communication.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
