Message from the Principal, Dr. Maguire
As we work to strengthen the academic experience of all students, we are currently working on our Advanced Placement opportunities for students. In conjunction with MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and Virtual High School (VHS), we are offering two new STEM courses, AP Environmental Science and Principles of Computer Science, to SHS students.
We have also partnered with the MA Insight Program so that our AP programs can work on improving access to and success in AP coursework for all students. We are excited to embark on this journey to challenge students in advanced level courses.
There will be a activities fair for Grades 9 and 10 in gym on Monday during homebase. Please think about clubs and activities you might be interested in and get involved!
Your partner in education,
Dr. Maguire

Assistant Principals Luette (9&10) and Hughes (11&12)
Shout Out to Our Sailor Nation!
Mr. Luette and Ms. Hughes are so proud of our friends and family (our students) at SHS. During this week's first fire drill we saw Sailors quietly following procedures and lined up at their Home Bases on our field. We appreciate your orderly exit making this one of our best fire drills to date, and know you will continue to do so- We didn’t come this far to only come this far!
Thank you to all our family and friends attending their correct lunches and spending time in the correct areas. We appreciate our 12th and 11th graders spending lunch time in the courtyard and the small gym, while our 10th and 9th graders are relaxing in the cafeteria and the space outside the cafe. A special thank you to our students who are cleaning up and pushing in their chairs- you all know who you are!
Lastly, we commend our family and friends for showing love, inclusion, and trust while attending Our House assemblies with our DEI Director Jamele Adams. We will continue to work with family and friends to understand the commitment to empathy and walking in others' shoes. Once we place ourselves in another family member's shoes will enable us to truly understand their hearts and minds. We are so proud of our students, we are so proud of our staff, and we are so proud to be supporting each and every one of you! Great first full week of school and we look forward to many more!
This is OUR HOUSE!
