The Hall Way...
Hello Northwood families!
One of my favorite traditions here at Northwood is our yearly Veteran's Day Assembly. Each year we honor Veterans for their service and sacrifice. Veterans share their stories during the day and then we gather together for an assembly to thank and honor them. Even though we cannot have our assembly this year, we still will be honoring Veterans this week. Our Veteran's Day Committee has worked with some local Veteran's to record an interview where they can share their story of their service with our students. Students also will participate in different lessons in their classes this week. Please encourage your student to share in their classes if they have any special Veterans in their lives and ask them to thank them for their service on behalf of our school.
This past Friday we had our drive thru celebration for our first quarter Honor Roll students. If you were not able to attend the bus will be finish delivering the certificates and special treats to your home this week. Check out the video below of the celebration!
You should have received a message last week that we will be staying in our remote setting through the week of Thanksgiving. While we are remote we will be using the block schedule that we switched back to last week.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff. Please never hesitate to reach out if you or your student needs help with anything. Warhawks take care of each other and we are here to work together and support each other. Have a wonderful and groovy week!

Are you signed up for the Parent Portal?
Parent Portal vs. Canvas Observer: What's the Difference?
District 200 uses two platforms to both instruct and report grades. Your Canvas Observer account allows you to see course work that is occurring in your student's classes. In Canvas, you will be able to see assignments, quizzes, and material being covered in class. You can also receive email alerts about announcements your student's teacher makes to the class.
In your Parent Portal you will be able to see your student's overall grade in a course as well as individual assignment and assessment grades. While you may not be able to see the actual assignment like you would in Canvas, you can still see some short details about the assignment by clicking on it. The Parent Portal also allows you to see some basic information about your student in the district, such as attendance and their schedule.
For help with either of these platforms, or to get signed up with an account, please contact the school.
