Apex Fun Run Fundraiser Starts Next Week
Our Apex Leadership Co. program and fun run fundraiser kicks off next week! We love the leadership portion of this program, and this year, Apex’s amazing leadership and character theme “GAME ON” will take students on an exciting journey as they learn what it takes to be a game changing leader!
Pledge kits will be coming home next week after the pep rally. Please note that our donation collections will all be done online through the Apex website www.MyApexEvent.com to make the collection process easier and faster. Sponsors can also pay by cash/check, we just ask that these donations be turned into the school any time before the Fun Run event, so that students receive credit.
We need volunteers to help with the Fun Run on Thursday, November 21st. If you would like to volunteer, please email Jade Unpingco at jade.unpingo@yahoo.com.
A Peek Inside Classrooms
Fall Book Fair Coming Soon
We do ask that you do not take your child out of class to go to the Book Fair. Please visit the book fair before school, during your child's lunch, or after school. Classes will have scheduled time to go through the Book Fair as well.
Thanksgiving Lunches
Our annual Thanksgiving lunch will be held on November 21st and 22nd. Reservation forms went home today. Please note that the reservations forms have PPCD's Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday, November 21st. PPCD will have their lunch on Friday, November 22nd.
Here is the schedule and lunch times for both days:
- Thursday, November 21st: Kindergarten (11:00), 2nd (11:40)
- Friday, November 22nd: PPCD and PK (10:45); 1st (11:10) and 3rd (12:00)
Please call Marcy at 267-8300 X4500 before Thursday, November 21st to have your visitor’s badge pre-printed. You can also email your request to marcella_kuske@lagovista.txed.net. All visitors will still need to be buzzed in before entering the main building. Please plan on arriving earlier than your child’s lunch time, as parking is limited and there will be a line at the Raptor computer.

Counselor's Corner
Hello LVES Families! This month during our guidance class lessons, students will be learning about the character trait of Giving. People are giving when they do kind and thoughtful things for others. Students will understand the importance of helping others and ways they may be able to use their time or talents to help others in need, as well as simply giving kindness to others. We have talked about “bucket filling” as a way of giving to others--it means filling someone’s invisible bucket of feelings by saying or doing something that makes them feel better. Students have learned that we should all be bucket fillers, and not bucket dippers. Ask your child if they have filled anyone’s bucket today!
