The Red Bicycle
1. Have you read the book to your students?
2. Have you sent the book home with each student to share with his/her family?
3. How does this story inspire us and what action steps will we take as a school?
First graders were inspired to pass along used toys to those in need.
The BSE Broadcast
- What type of learning is happening in your classroom that your students would like everyone to see?
- Is there a problem your students have observed, and they have a solution or a "Public Service Announcement" they would like to share?
Young Hoosier Book Award Nominations & Voting
Included below is a link to a resource from the Indiana Library Federation. It includes summaries and follow-up activities or responses if you wish for each book.
Suggestion: For students to keep track of their opinion of the book, have them take a photo and post to Seesaw or Canvas (whichever you use or prefer) and add a comment of the number of stars they would personally give the book. If your students put them in a separate folder then when it comes time to vote in April, they can simply refer to the folder and their pictures and know which book they rated the highest.
Student and Teacher Book Requests for New Purchases
I will also post a QR to this Padlet in the library. Students can scan and add it to their homescreen on their iPads for easy adding. Happy requesting!
Collaborate/Co-Teach/Support (with Mrs. Kussy or Mrs. Mohr)

Student Authors & Playwriters/Performers + Indoor Recess
Do you have students who would enjoy writing a play and performing it for others? Or creating puppets for a puppet show to put on for an audience? How can we foster this type of "play" for students during indoor recess? How can we support creativity and art through storytelling? I would LOVE to support ANY students with this even if it is during indoor recess.
I am only an email away or a short walking distance away IF you can find me!
